Concept SENTRY 3.0: Development and Suggestions

Late to the party here. 😅 For those asking to drop the AIO support. Why? It's a by-product of the 2-slot VGA support, can't see what having support for AIOs hinders in any way. Unless you want to put a 3.5" HDD in there which is, nowadays, useless and rarer than using an AIO in the Sentry? I...

Production SENTRY 2.0: Evolution of console-sized gaming PC case

Pretty please, with sugar on top. 😁 I guess that it won't be possible to retrofit it into 2.0 as a spare part… 🙁

Production SENTRY 2.0: Evolution of console-sized gaming PC case

Thanks for the info. As for the riser, atm I'm looking at the Linkup Ultra PCIe 4.0 Extreme - Straight Socket 50mm length. That is, provided I will be able to get an AMD RX 6000 card on thursday drops or an EVGA 3000 XC3 card someday. In previous posts it's been hinted that this Linkup riser...

Production SENTRY 2.0: Evolution of console-sized gaming PC case

So, I know (I read the whole thread) this has been discussed times and times again, and I know that, performance wise, it makes basically no difference at all but, as a quality of life point of view, where are we on PCIe 4.0 risers? Anything 4.0 compliant? Maybe even ready to use, without...

News NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Launching April 2019

I'd dare to say that 75W GPUs will start appearing when production yelds will be on track - no point in manufacturing a cheaper GPU when production can barely keep up with demand of higher (=pricier) GPUs - and there will be a 100W~125W GPU whose faulty production could be downscaled to a...

News NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Launching April 2019

If, hopefully, RDNA2 does scale down good with TDPs (TGPs? These new ways of measuring consumptions is quite confusing until they standardize somehow again), we could expect a 75W 6500ish LP somewhere in the pipeline. Mind you, AMD has yet to announce anything below the RX 6800, as of now, a...

Indeed, personally I check that Google Doc with a grain of salt, it's just a starting point, then I double check measurement and look around for other experiences.

Would it be possible to add in that wonderful Google Doc of yours the estimated TDP of the GPUs? Maybe with a color code (green = below suggested TDP, yellow = risky/depending on orientation, red = not suggested)? Would be an useful info for people looking what to buy.

    The Great ODD debate

Since this has been necrobumped, does anyone know what the current state on UHD BD, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support on PCs? I've always toyed with the idea of an HTPC (to stay in topic, with an internal ODD) and I wondered what one can achieve nowadays with a PC, and what...

News NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Launching April 2019

You actually got it right the first time, I was referring to some kind of software reading GPU temps but then acting on CPU fans, if I got right your building. But then again, a software triggered by the execution of specific programs might just do it for you.

Would be fun to have an IFTTT kinda tool to automagically adjust fan's speed according to GPU temp readings.
