    Motherboard [SFFn] ASRock's B450M Pro4 - M-ATX, Fully Featured

I must be missing something. There is no DisplayPort output on this board. What's the purpose of this chip? It seems to be limited to 1080p from the Realtek specs page, so is it being used to provide the VGA or DVI output? HDMI output only supports 4K at 30Hz :( Does the USB-C port on the...

They mention using Sharp IGZO panels, so it's probably the LQ156D1JX01 since that's the most common Sharp 15.6" 4K panel. It's a nice panel, I used one in my 4K monitor build. It is a glossy panel though, so be prepared for lots of glare. Here's a matte panel (left) next to the glossy panel...

Well I finally finished and cut the cases for the 4K Sharp panels I bought. There are a lot of mistakes I had to fix after the fact, note to future self: do not be lazy and assume both LCDs have the same layout. Imgur album. I kind of gave up on trying to mount the buttons and IR receiver...

Yes! The full size DisplayPort adapter is 81.0 x 40.0 x 10.5 mm (LxWxH) including port overhang. The dimensions of the mini DisplayPort model should be the same except the height is less (8.2mm) The LP097QX1 just refer to the datasheet (PDF) for the dimensions: I don't have any experience...

If you have access to a 3D printer, there are many kickstand designs available for VESA mounts. There are also online services to print parts for you, but I don't know how expensive this would be. e.g. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2338530

The controller is definitely compatible with the 2nd gen iPad LCD. I can't seem to find the part number of the 1st gen iPad LCD, but it looks completely different to the second gen iPad LCD (at least mechanically), so I would guess it's not compatible: 1st Gen...

If you want something cheap to knock out a proof of concept? The Chinesium adapter and 9.7" LCD will set you back <$60 As I said, they aren't using high quality backlight drivers like Abusemark does, but they do have quite a few reviews so if the design was so terrible they didn't work or...

Yes, this is no problem. I've run much bigger loads off molex connectors (RC battery chargers) and they have no problem to deliver the kind of power you'd need for an LCD.

What am I looking at here? Shameless self-plug: you could always laser cut the case design I posted. Should cost you around $15 in materials/cutting time. Easy to assemble (glue) and mount the panel (screws or foam tape). Or for the really lazy, buy an iPad digitizer and use foam tape to mount...

Not that I'm against abusemark products, because they're awesome and Tim has great customer support (replaced an adapter after a year because I didn't use it and notice a manufacturing defect) but if 6500 JPY is too expensive, there are people on AliExpress selling HDMI to iPad LCD adapters for...

Since other people may be interested, here are the plans for the iPad case I designed (license CC BY-SA). Included in the zip file is the inkscape SVG and final PDF I used to have the cases cut at Snijlab (no affiliation, just the cheapest laser cutting I found in Western Europe). The design is...

tl;dr - unless you want a low power (~10W) or small display (15.6") just buy the Dell P2415Q, it's a finished product with a case, USB hub, and warranty. You'll have a much better time. The price difference is negligible when all is said and done. I'm looking to order a couple of these for a...

Yes, such a thing exists: On a more serious note, there are some projects trying to get the Wii U controller to work with PC (including display mirroring) however they're alpha quality at best and it seems there hasn't been much recent progress...

Do you mean the HP Elite x3 LapDock? It's pretty expensive for what you get, unless you've found a supplier for less than $499. I also own the Motorola LapDock. It's only 1366x768, but very portable and the battery lasts ~6 hours on a charge. With the right female-female adapters for micro USB...
