I'm not clued up on PSU'S, but I didn't wonder if maybe the pci cable was one directional? My PSU did crackle before it posted when I had the original problem, but after that it's been running games very nicely at 50 degrees. Touch wood it continues!

Forgot to mention - I know the Gtx 1660 ti works; I used it in my old, giant, ATX pc.
