    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

You probably don't want a permanent bracket, as it defeats the purpose of having a small case. I thought of trying a laptop cooler pad like this: www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Aluminum-Adjustable-Temperature-CL-N002-PL12BL/dp/B00J0NZYOK You could also get 2X fan rack frames from specialist...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

5cm riser finally arrived, so I could finish the build. Here's pics as promised. First the riser components: Routing 2 fan cables from front to 4X fan hub. Cutting the Dan A4 plastic separator to shield the riser backside. Routing 4 fans to the fan hub, placed below the 10GBs ethernet card...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

I'll send pics once the setup is fixed. The model I got was this: https://peine-braun.net/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=65_59&product_id=54. This is the narrowest model, but there's no space for this either at the motherboard PCIE slot or at the GPU-side PCIE slot. So I plan to put...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

Just received custom PCIE bifurcation riser from C_Payne (https://peine-braun.net/shop/). Splitting the sole x16 PCIE slot to x8 GPU and x8 10Gbs Ethernet: 18-core stress test heats the components so that the 10Gb/s goes down to ~8.5Gb/s. Better component placing and cooling should reduce...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

Update on this, in case anyone is thinking of skylake-x cpus with the Dan case: fault with overheating is on Asrock X299E-ITX/ac motherboard BIOS bugs. Any setting change to voltage or clock ratios will disable thermal throttling when all cores are in use. This seems to makes it impossible to...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

Overall not recommended. Under full load in this position A9x14 will make a lot of noise. It will only fit in pull config, with the motherboard and riser cables pressing against the plastic fan guard. If you use a low-noise adapter it won't do much cooling. v4 will have an actual fan position...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

Hardware: CPU: Intel 7980xe delidded, with liquid metal + copper plate + kryonaut paste CPU cooler: Asetek 545LC + Noctua NF-A9x14 in pull config Motherboard: Asrock X299E-ITX/ac PSU: Corsair SF600 Case coolers: Noctua NF-A12x25 behind PSU pushing out, Akasa Slimfan in front of mobo pushing out...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

I'm almost done with my DAN A4 v3 build. Overall the case has excellent build quality, but the airflow remains unsatisfactory. v4 should fix some of these issues, but the case could have 10-20C better thermals with some changes. Only slim fans will fit like Noctua NF-A9x14 or Akasa Slimfan, or...

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

For 545LC+NF-A9x14 the screws you want are 20mm DIN912-M3 screws. These were mentioned in the forums, so I ordered and tried these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/182022519670. Fits perfectly.

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

I noticed this with the Akasa Slimfan. I'll try putting a fan guard under it next. At least with ASRock X299E-ITX/AC there should be enough space for the Slimfan+grill, although it will be a tight fit.

    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

I just got my Dan A4 v3, and I've had great fun tinkering with it. It will be a useful portable workstation once I've got the cooling airflow worked out. My build uses suggestions from the forum&Youtube, with Asetek 92mm 545LC with Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM for CPU cooling, but the other motherboard...
