We’ve looked at ASRock’s DeskMini range in the past, with in depth analysis of the B250 and Z370 series DeskMini GTX/RX models – with GTX1080 and GTX1060 GPUs included. Gemini Lake NUCs Appear on Retailer Listings

Intel has renewed it’s support for the NUC platform, recently releasing Gemini Lake variants of the platform, namely the NUC7CJYH and NUC7PJYH NUCs. As you may have guessed, the “C” and “P” in the model numbers reference the inbuilt processor – either a Celeron (SR3S5) or Pentium Silver (SR3S3) Processor. The units have started to show at e-tailers for pre-order for example, ShopBLT.com lists it here and CompSource here. While there’s no details on availability as yet, at least the price is known. The entry-level Celeron NUC will be sold for approximately US$130, whilst the Pentium Silver variant will sell for around US$190. …

Kaby-Lake Integrated into the Next Gen ASRock Beebox-S

One of the first ‘custom’ NUC based systems, the ASRock Beebox, has been given an upgrade to the latest generation Kaby-Lake processors from Intel. The Beebox-S models are now available with Intel’s Core i5-7200U (2C/4T, 2.5 GHz base and 3.1 GHz Boost clocks) or i3-7100U (2C/4T, 2.4 GHz base clock) CPUs, this new generation shows well, very few changes over the previous Skylake based systems.
