In the ongoing, agonising, wait for Zen, Bristol Ridge will be an appetiser. With OEMs already building systems based on the platform, it was only a matter of time until we saw the first board make an appearance.
That has happened today, with HP’s ‘Willow‘ board. As you can see above, the board is sort of a Micro-ATX motherboard (albeit closer to DTX than M-ATX), with dual DDR4 RAM slots. a single PCIe x16 slot, and some interesting component locations. The board is featured in the HP Elitedesk 705 G3 SFF.
With the ongoing rumours and misinformation regarding cooler mounting, we can see from the image that the cooler mounting uses a square pattern. While this could be correct, it’s more likely that this is HP designing a board to save costs by utilising the same coolers for both Intel and AMD platform, so take it with a grain of salt.
