Interesting - did the old Thinkpads use 3.5" drives? I had an old Toshiba chonker from around the same timeframe, can't recall the drive size now though. Those things were 'Nokia 3310' level bombproof. Managed to find various 40 pin+4 to SATA adapters in the usual places so all good Sorry to hijack your thread OP!
