heres my mid-atlantic half-rack, with switch, firewall box (itx board in antec case), and skull canyon NUC server. all fits very snug!
its hard to find half-rack stuff here in the US, although it does seem to be a standard in the UK for small telecom/networking boxes. some audio gear is half-rack size, so i was able to find the rack + PDU (PDU is built for this rack and attached to the back) on ebay for cheap (compared to retail). because no actual gear available with rack ears at this size, i ended up just buying the mid-atlantic shelves, they have tons of holes for screws and straps to secure your gear. the shelves are deep enough for power bricks and cables to get strapped in behind the gear.
theres some DIY itx cases (aluminum cubes basically) labeled as 'half-rack' on ebay that I was going to build a custom case out of, but they were about 1" short of the size needed for this rack.
I've since added a UPS at the bottom for a self-contained micro datacenter ?
