This is kinda my thing. I like to make sleeper builds by stuffing modern hardware into the shell of something you'd never suspect would be a computer or have such and such capability. However, I have never worked on something this small, and by some miracle, I found this place.
I have an Atari 2600 and a PS3 that are broken and would make excellent cases. Seeing as the Atari VCS is on the horizon, and if I mess this up, broken Atari 2600's are only about 13 bucks on Amazon. I've decided to shove some new guts into this thing that has less processing power than your average microwave.
I've done a lot of custom hardware builds, but again, never so... minimal and compact. So how do I do this? How can I stuff the most power I can into this shell? It would be especially rad if I could get those switches functionally working with the new build.
I thought of taking the plastic top with the grille design and making a custom replica with the spaces in between cut out for airflow. I suppose I would use such a thing as a overgrown Raspberry Pi that can actually play somewhat newer games and also play music and movies.
So, what do you think? And how do I do it? Do you have any other interesting ideas along these lines?
Also, I'm new here! Pleasure to meet you all!
