I've also seen others tape cardboard around the fan to achieve the reduce temp.Also, as a side note, I saw Noctua released a graphene-coated version of the L9i: https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/noctua-graphene-coated-l9a-l9i-cooler.9523/#post-121269
