Adaptertech make quite a few small GaN bricks. But they focus on OEM/ODM with high MOQs so it's hard to get one as a "normal consumer".

Yeah, that's more or less the same like the one from Adaptertech. They share the same "reference design".

You can see it just after the 1m and 30s mark here.

It looks pretty tiny! And a good replacement for the old 330W beast of a brick!

Some threads online claim that Dell will have it available for separate purchase in May 2022.

no guarantee - but it looks the shop you linked is legit and has a good reputation. however, personally I will pass on this for now. The premium to pay for 330W vs 240W is a little bit too much for my taste

If there was a 300W 12V GaN wall charger that handles high ampere, then our 12V DC-ATX builds are suddenly very attractive. The one mentioned above is 19.5V though, didn't see a 12V on that store when I looked before.

I'll be testing it out with the Hdplex to see how high it can handle GPU spikes.

I really have no idea if these are designed to handle big spikes, so it might not be a great solution, but if it can handle ~150w RMS I will be happy with it.

Just posting a small update on this topic:

1) SlimQ will release a 330w Gan charger with usb-pd ports + what appears to be an XT-60 plug which is then adapted to DC barrel. The 240w was a little over $100 usd after discounts, so i'm guessing the 330w will be about $150.

2) The Dell 330w GAN charger for Alienware x17 r2 is supposedly being sold independently. I can't find it on Dell's website but it is all over Ebay for $239. Which is pretty exorbitant.

it was available for $139.99 for a few days at Dell but now it is back to $162.49

of course (?) it will need the hack to make it work e.g. with HDPlex 400W dc-atx. without the mod it turns off right after connecting.
