An adapter should not affect the performance, if it is designed and constructed properly. And you just cannot tell from the outside. So, one cannot be 100% sure until one actually uses the adapter.Personally, I would prefer to use a cable that already has an right-angled end rather than to use an right-angled adapter connected to another straight cable. One fewer component and one fewer connection mean smaller chance to go wrong. Simplicity is beautiful.
