So here is an interesting piece of hardware, the Magewell Eco Capture Quad SDI M.2 card
This card is used for capturing 4 simultaneous SDI video feeds (up to cinema 2K resolution apparently). Good for a program like VMix. Good for live events, conferences, maybe even streaming shows.
I think the SFF possibilites are pretty interesting. One could modify a very small case like the Velka 3 or perhaps even modify a laptop to work with this M.2 card. Maybe even design a custom thunderbolt external enclosure to accomadate the heat sink and anchored SDI inputs cables that connect to the card.
Anyone have ideas about how this might work in a laptop? Either making room for the heat sink or coupling it to an aluminum chassis to dissipate heat. In a small chassis one could easily run an m.2 ssd on the back of your board, and run this m.2 capture card on the front.
