Hi everyone,
I'm laying my next SFF build and would like to have your advice/opinion.
So I've been really thrilled by the new Lenovo's m75q Tiny Gen 5: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/desk...o-thinkcentre-m75q-gen-5-tiny-amd/len102c0051 .
Pros:
- Æsthetics
- Proper vendor BIOS support (I'm looking at you MinisForum)
- Ideal formfactor
- Overall build quality
Cons:
- Can be quite noisy: - RAM is capped at 5200 MHz
- 8600GE is only available if you're gonna use Windows (which you have to pay for)
- Pricey :/
Given all of that, I'm thinking of having Milo 10 build, which will have similar specs but will be more customizable.
I've decided on the following parts:
- CPU: Ryzen 8600G
- CPU cooler: NH-L9a-AM5
- MB: ??? mini ITX
- RAM: ??? 32 GB dual channel 6400 MT/s
- PSU: PicoPSU 160W
- SSD: WD Black SN850X 1TB
From my assumptions, grand total would be around $600, which's less than comparable Lenovo config (and much more capable).
So, my questions are:
- Do you have similar case recommendations? What I'm looking for: minimalism, black/beige, painted metal. I've seen new AsRock DeskMini, but it's just plain ugly, as well as InWin with meshed walls;
- I figured 6400 MT/s RAM is the sweet spot for this particular config. Does it make sense to buy 7000-capable RAM and downclock it or this kind of frequency is standard?
- Which MB would be more fitting? I don't need any RGB, just any MB which would support BIOS upgrades and allow RAM overclock;
- Which RAM would be more fitting? Again no RGB, just stable 6400 MT/s;
Thanks a lot!
