Heyo,
New to sffpc. Building a new work/game/everything PC, that's somewhat portable. Coming from Macbook pro 2011 and all computers and operating systems suck now. So time to build my own computer and learn some Arch Linux !
SO, is my build 'aight, dumb or an overkill? I live in Nordic countries, so prices are mostly from Germany.
Questions:
> Should I get 32 GB DDR4-3600 RAM instead to get most out of the CPU? Also, motherboard has only two RAM-slots so would make sense to just throw 70 euros more to get 2x more RAM. E.g. this.
> Should I just get 2080 or something like that? Or pay more for RX 6800 XT? I know this is just a fantasy until 6000s come out.
> Two or three Noctuas into v.4.1? Slim? Big? Did I choose right?
> Any tips? I have some tabs open about fitting the watercooling, how ASUS MB gives most space for CPU cooling and how the new Dan V4.1. plugs into the MB. But still unsure, probably forgot some bs part like the soul of the computer or the thing that turns it on.
Posted this also to Reddit, but call me old fashioned, forums still feel like the place to be.

Part (click for store) | Price (rounded €) | Reason |
---|---|---|
DAN A4-SFX V4.1 | 214 | Hopefully lasts 10 years |
ASUS ROG Strix X570-I | 270 | Paying 90 € more for PCI 4.0 vs. buying B550-I |
Corsair SF750 | 155 | Duh.. (?) |
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | 320 | 100€ more for dat Smart Access Memory vs. 3600XT |
Asetek AiO 645LT 92mm with Noctua NF-A9x14 | 94 | Better cooling than Black Ridge(?) and I want a challenge! |
16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 (2x 8GB) | 57 | Nice bang for buck |
1000GB Crucial P1 NVMe M.2 2280 | 92 | Cheap for 1TB, but is it good? |
AMD Radeon RX 6800 | 520 (estimate) | Hopefully best bang for the buck GPU, 2080 Ti for 400 looks so spendy now. Also, Smart Access Memory. |
2x Noctua NF-A9x14 | 33 | Noctua>, but is this the right one? |
USB to MB part 1 and part 2 | 14 | I wanna plug stuff.. |
Altogether | 1,767 (jeez) | Spendy, but futureproof? |
