Just joined after reading and lurking for a while. It seems that I came at the wrong time however since memory prices are going up... SSD shortage and graphics seem to be following suit...

Welcome ! It seems like everything is going up in price, with new tech getting a lot of sudden surges in buyers. I hope it resolves at some point, it'll slow down progress and keep people from buying upgrades or new machines.

Well, apparently, what happened was all the cell phone manufacturers bought all the memory and storage.
The good news is price hikes take time, so there might still be a chance to get something at a reasonable price.

Anyways, welcome. Always plenty of room to discuss in between builds. I upgrade last year (or was it the year before, can never keep track of time anymore), so I won't be getting new stuff any time soon either.

Tinkering with used gear can get you through untill pricing on the latest and greatest gets more reasonable. As a hobbyist I depend on it.
