Hi community! I hope I'm in the right area.

I'm planning my first ever pc (and itx) build, so I'm looking for advice from experienced people who know more about this than me.

Some important factors:
  • My monitor is 1440p with 144 Hz
  • I will be reusing my old GPU: PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB
  • I'm not playing competitive games, so super high framerates are not a goal. However I'd like the fps to have as high fps as possible (within my budget)
  • I also want it to be as silent as possible (considering it's an ITX build)
I have two similar builds in mind and would love some opinions on which would work better:

Build 1: Meshroom S V2 air cooled
  • Case: Meshroom S V2
  • Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming WIFI
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9x65
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB DDR5-6000, CL30
  • SSD: Samsung SSD 990 EVO 1TB, M.2 2280
  • GPU: PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB
  • PSU: Corsair SF750
  • Noctua NF-A14x25 two times for the front (probably intake?)
  • Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM for the top (probably exaust?)
I'm still unsure about a couple of things for this build:
  1. Do you think the parts I chose work well together? Would you swap any parts for others?
  2. Any recommendations for mounting the GPU? I've seen in videos that it can be a pain with the HDMI or DisplayPort cables.

Build 2: Meshroom D air cooled (most of it is the same)
  • Case: Meshroom D
  • Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming WIFI
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D
  • CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Mini
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB DDR5-6000, CL30
  • SSD: Samsung SSD 990 EVO 1TB, M.2 2280
  • GPU: PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB
  • PSU: Corsair SF750
  • Silent Wings 4 PWM, 120mm (exaust)
  • Silent Wings 4 PWM, 140mm (exaust)
For the second build I would follow the steps in this guide:
Some thoughts that I have, that I would love some experienced opinions on:
  • Since I have no building experience, I'm wondering which of these builds would have better air flow and keep all parts cool. Both cases are perforated on all sides, but the cooler setup is different. For example the Meshroom S would have just one tiny exhaust fan on top and the rest would be intake, which seems like all coolers would just suck in air, but there wouldn't be any linear path for it to go outside as far as I understood. However there might be better ways to build it that I don't know about.
  • What bugs me a bit about the Meshroom S is that uncomfy cable situation for the GPU. On top of that they basically force you to buy a riser cable and case feet, because otherwise it won't work nicely. The Meshroom D on the other hand looks like it just works without those hiccups and the GPU can be plugged directly into the motherboard.

Thanks in advance! :-)

Just some quick thoughts:
The L9x65 performs poorly for its size. Thermalright is the safest bet with air coolers atm.
In most setups all exhaust and having the cpu cooler + GPU pulling in their own fresh air is the best approach (ducts help)
Samsung SSDs are not worth it imo. Crucial and WD often has the better value and the Samsung SSDs don't even perform as well.
The case decision you'll have to make yourself :)
