Hi there,
I've no experience in power electronics, but I know that some people on this board certainly do
So I've been reading the forum for quite a while but couldn't find anything specific regarding this. I do have a old motherboard which has separate ATX and extra 3.3V (PCI bus) power connectors. My plan so far has been to use PicoPSU 160W XT and Meanwell's RSD-30G-3.3 together, to get that extra 3.3V rail – Pico seems to have it only on ATX pin and max load is limited to 8A (given that I want to try to go fanless, it's probably around 5A or so). I was planning to hook them together to the single 12V DC source (so grounds are connected) and also (probably?) connect grounds at output side; however, I'm not sure it's the best approach. I've seen this thread which's about similar concept; both cable mentioned and Add2PSU just connect everything together, without any diodes or protection circuits...will my setup go on fire?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
