ETA PRIME has reviewed the Asus ROG NUC 970 SFF PC. This prebuilt features an Intel Ultra9 185H and NVIDIA RTX 4070 laptop GPU. The Ultra 9 185 H features 6 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 2 ultra low power cores for a total of 16 cores and 22 threads, and posted a score of 11,280 points in 3DMark Time Spy. For reference, a stock Intel I5-12600K score about 13,428 in Time Spy.  The RTX 4070 laptop GPU (8GB) is set to draw up to 140 watts of power, and performs a bit below a desktop RTX 3070, but a bit above the RTX 3060Ti in 3D Mark Time Spy.

Hey Everyone...

That price for the ASUS ROG NUC 970 was so nauseating that I wanted to post up a similar but improved build to my Louqe RAW S1 I mentioned in the article. Prices are in US, and the parts are from New Egg and Amazon except for the case which is directly from Louqe.

Rather than try to match the RTX 4070 Laptop performance for the parts list, I decided to go with the RTX 4070 Super which performs SUBSTANTIALLY faster than the 4070 Laptop. Performance is akin to an RTX 3090 while only pulling about 230 watts.

CASE: Louqe RAW S1 - $163

CPU: Intel i5 - 12600K - $168

MOTHERBOARD: Asus ROG Strix Z690-i - $189

RAM: 32GB GSKILL DDR5-7200 - $129

SSD: 2TB WD BLACK SN850 - $158

GPU: ZOTAC Gaming RTX 4070 Super Twin Edge - $589

CASE FAN: Noctua NF-P12 Redux - $12

CPU COOLER: Noctua NH-L12S - $65

PSU: FSP Dagger Pro 850 SFX - $179

TOTAL: $1,652 give or take a few dollars.
