Ars Technica [ArsTechnica] Intel’s Compute Card is a PC that can fit in your wallet

Intel mostly missed the boat on smartphones, but the company is trying to establish a firm foothold in the ever-broadening marketplace for connected appliances and other smart things. Intel's latest effort in this arena is its new "Compute Card," a small 94.5mm by 55mm by 5mm slab that includes a CPU and GPU, RAM, storage, and wireless connectivity.

Looks like a higher performance EOMA68.
Kind of a Gordian solution to the 'non-upgradable IoT security' issue, but still relies on somebody providing updates to a system that will have a proprietary layer somewhere in there.

It supposedly is replacing the Compute Stick and is meant for upgradability of IoT/Smart devices. I actually like the idea, but its been done before.

This would be very cool in a server-nuc (a.k.a a nuc that could take multiples of the card for better performance, like a dual cpu workstation but a multi-card workstation instead)
