Just starting this little thread to compile information about mATX motherboards that support CF / SLI as there seems to be very few and even less information about them.

So far I have the following:

asrock ab350m (CrossFire - NO / SLI - NO)
asrock ab350m pro4 (CrossFire - NO / SLI - NO)
asus prime b350m-a (CrossFire - NO / SLI - NO)
biostar racing x370gt3 (CrossFire - NO / SLI - NO)
gigabyte ga-ab350m-gaming 3 (CrossFire - NO / SLI - NO)
msi b350m mortar (CrossFire - YES / SLI - NO)

The Biostar board does not support SLI.

Both boards have PCI-e 2.0 x4 to the second slot that shares bandwidth of the entire chipset back to the CPU. I'd recommend against trying to run a multi-GPU set-up on those boards.

While the msi does x4 to the 2nd PCIe slot .... CrossFire requires 4x - so that will definitely work. It even mentions it in their specifications.
The biostar doesn't mention SLI/CF support on their page but many AMD slides imply the x370 chipset is SLI/CF compatible ?!
I'm just trying to find the page where i found the biostar is SLI / CF compatible.

You are looking for a board where the x16 slot can be split into two x8 slots (still x16 physically, just x8 electrically) with quick switches.

On the Gigabyte board, those 4 long rectangular components below the right side of the upper slot are the quick switches.

You can also see that the second slot has electrical connectivity half way down the slot, for a x8 connection (it's easier to see when looking at the backside of a board).

Unfortunately most of the motherboards have x16/x4 singling.
This is due to the fact that they use the B350 chipset instead of the X370.
Therefore the best these boards support for now is Crossfire, which according to AMD will work with PCIe x4 singling. Unlike nVidia who needs 8x.
However, the list i made above I compiled strictly out of specifications / manuals.
Crossfire MAY work but not necessarily.

Even the atx mobos have this issue as far as I could see.

It's interesting to note that if the board supports x8 that's pcie 2.0, not 3.0 as on the first lane. Given that I'm very illiterate on those multi Góis setups I'm unaware of this should affect performance or if it's possible at all

Thankfully, the difference from PCIe 2.0 8x to 3.0 16x is almost negligible. (source)
"Performance losses begin to be noticeable as you get down to PCI-Express 2.0 x8, PCI-Express 3.0 x4, and below. Even here, the frame-rate drops are within 5-10% of PCI-Express 3.0 x16"

Regarding 2.0 16x vs 3.0 16x, when @||| and I spoke with Raja at Asus, he told us that because someone decided to jump onto it and market it as "better performance", it become something the rest of the industry jumped onto so that their product wouldn't be considered inferior.

It's kind of like the current RGB craze. He said he personally wasn't the biggest fan but it does sells well with gamers and it markets even better.

Yeah x8 isn't a problem. Actually i think my current z170 board switches to 2 x x8 PCIe when in SLI.
nVidia SLI won't enable though if you don't have x8
Crossfire will

I know Crossfire works when both cards are on the same PCIe root (e.g. both on lanes connected to the CPU, or both on lanes connected to the PCH) but does it work when you have one card on PCIe lanes connected directly to the CPU, and the other on lanes that terminate at the PCH (forcing XDMA through the CPU-PCH bottleneck)?

Ok so i think we finally have our first SLI motherboard: LINK

There's not a lot of details on the board and Maxsun website (all in chinese)

CORRECTION: 2nd PCIe slot is only 4x ... so crossfire might work, but not SLI

Some more info leaking about SLI support: LINK

Quote:
Just a heads up to those who are looking for new motherboards. New documents which were released under NDA to reviewers contain more information about the new motherboard chipsets for Ryzen and future APUs.

AMD B350, no SLI but CrossFire
According to ComputerBase, the AMD B350 chipset does support multi-GPU, but only through CrossFire. There is no SLI support. This information is still under NDA despite new motherboards and Ryzen CPUs being available for preorders. I know B350 is the budget-oriented chipset, so multi-GPU is may not be as popular as it will be on X370, but I think it’s worth to know this beforehand.

Hi everyone, long time lurker here, but thought I may as well share my "homework":

I have tried to gather all the information for SFF builds for the AM4 socket and have placed everything here:

EDIT: I assume newbies cannot post links, even though the BB code properly encapsulates my Google Sheets link; however, I cannot seem to see the details, so please find the link as follows (prefix with HTTPS docs.google.com):

No, the link is not working. I've pinged other admins to see if they know what the deal is. The feature might be broken.

Here's a hyperlink to your spreadsheet. Thanks for sharing!

I've managed to get SLI working on an Asrock X370 ITX board with a PCIe riser: LINK
Great!

Too bad it's not the Biostar ITX X370 board that I'm eyeing... It's the only one with USB 3.1 Gen 2...

Besides, have you tried your board with ECC?

Nope, haven't tried that yet. I don't have any ECC sticks on hand to do it either.
