    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

Thermalright AXP90 CU works really well too. You can swap the 90mm fan with a thin 100mm from Thermalrigh too.

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

Yes i think the sucky part you cannot add on a usb4 accessories to original x600m. This seems a new motherboard change that is more fitting for APU like other mini PC already out there. Zen4 and Zen5 G-APU already sacrifised a PCIE5x4 for USB4, the og x600m was lazy Am4 quick money grab...

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

seems like asrock forgot this x600, no bios update for 4 months when others have moved far forward. Poor choice of not using USB4, and no bios support. Reviewer should dock points from this and not recommend the box.

no modification needed, i use the shorter screws even. You may need to lift the upper case shell while pushing in the whole tray to close.

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

You mentioned using XMP but also manually changing some ram timings afterwards. The artefacts are usually instable vram from past experiences. You also mentioned the sparkles disappear in certain scenarios after you launch a game fullscreen, that could also point to drivers or bios.

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

Looks right to me. most ddr5 jedec is 4800 (there are newer models with jedec 5200). once you turn on xmp, here it overclocks to 6400 configured. the reason you are getting artifacts is because the xmp is applying only 1.1v at 6400, it is not enough voltage and your OS becomes unstable. Why...

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

My deskmini is limited by bios and also cheap micron memory but having desktop ryzen, i will say we can follow this general settings. It is as good you can get on limited bios and vrm of deskmini...

8600G of course, it has better cpu cores too. Or if you not gaming 9600X is even better. The igpu is good enough for 2D rendering, though 4K videos stutters under other load

you have to be patient, it locks in easily once you found the right angle. You can have your wife or daughter to help if they have dainty hands. It is worth it for the wireless function unlock. You can try msi herald be wifi 7, remove the card from it pcb and install the same way as asrock kit.

I do not, performance mode and standard mode, with the stock power brick and with a 180w power brick sounds like you lost the coil whine lottery. It happens with pc parts, where the vrms section vibrate on load, it is a bad QC and you can raise a RMA if the noise is unbearable

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

If you going to use the GPU of 8700g, it can use as fast memory speeds as possible. However x600 bios with regards to pushing memory speeds are poor now. You can do 6400 expo/xmp at 1.2v but Fclk will lock to 2000. Or if you have really golden hynix ram, you could try 6400 manual at 1.1v but...

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

I am sure 7950x or 9950x will work in X600, just make sure to set PPT limits to 65-80W, so as not to stress the vrm.

I use this, sadly the pmic gets in the way of the back one without the grooves, i needed to bend/flex it abit and add a layer of thermal tape. to have some contact to nand chip. I think the biggest issue axp90 orientation in x600, the openings are against the ram stick, so you can have airflow...

    ASRock’s X600 DeskMini – Finally – Again

Are you using the stock 120W psu? It gets very toasty under load no? There is a bios bug if you chose xmp profile, you cannot make adjustment to fclk that is locked to 2000. Zen4 APU can run at least 2400 fclk for Amd recommendation. Please feedback to asrock to check this bug Asrock...
