Motherboard ECC SODIMM in DeskMini A300/X300

Best will be to check in the BIOS as it's mostly the motherboard that decides whether ECC is supported or not.

Motherboard Group Buy/Crowdfunded Modded BIOS for the Asrock A300m (Deskmini A300)

You were struggling to realize whether your RAM was configured properly. The 4650G and 4750G requires a beta BIOS and have stability issues with RAM speeds requiring quite a bit of tinkering. They can also on occasion draw more power than that the little power brick is rated for. With all that...

Motherboard Group Buy/Crowdfunded Modded BIOS for the Asrock A300m (Deskmini A300)

I believe you mean the 2400G? There's always the 3400G, the 4650G or the 4750G, but you don't seem entirely comfortable with this, so I'd recommend you stick with your 2400G or at most upgrade to the 3400G.

There you go, it's running at 3200. 1600 (1599.1 but who's counting) multiplied by two =3200.

Right, my bad. I mean Zen2 APUs.

Read this thread, you'll find that most people in fact DO have issues. There's also plenty of youtube, reddit, other forums, of people claiming the exact same. There were also warnings from JZ.de, the people that actually got us the beta bioses, indicating as such. You're the exception, you got...

It does not support the Zen3 APUs out of the box. You need one of the previous CPUs to upgrade the bios. They are not officially supported, only through a beta bios. Many Deskmini A300 struggle to run the Zen3 APUs with the RAM at anything above 2400MHz.

Yup at this point assume your A300 can't deliver clean enough power.

Edit: nevermind, saw the info I asked for elsewhere on the forums.

You should try that. 1.35V on ram is its default. 1.15 to 1.2V is the highest you should do on SOC voltage from what I've checked. See if you can set LLC as well, though I don't think so on the A300.

I've got a custom 400W psu for the deskmini and an egpu.

So basically, when you install the 4650G or 4750G, install 3.60R, and before first boot raise SoC VID? Any recommendations on voltage? I've got Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB 3200MHz kit (has 3200 XMP profile) and would like to keep it at 3200 with a 4750G. Currently running a 2400G. EDIT: I'll be...
