Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

Looks like whoever wants to build in this case with two RTX 2080 Ti's and a Ryzen 9 3900X no longer has to worry about power limitations anymore.

    PCI-E Bifurcation

@NinoPecorino If you check out @LukeD's Project Orthrus build, he got SLI working on an ITX board perfectly. All he did was "inject" the SLI certification himself. There is a tutorial I found online, it's time consuming but it's not "costly" and you just do it once and you're done, and...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

I've already reserved some money to be able to buy one as soon as it's out, that way I won't have to worry if he isn't able to produce enough to maintain availability lol.

Wait, so you're telling me that you're completely blind to the comments right above you, that you haven't seen pretty much any of the comments on the last 3-5 pages asking the exact same thing, and the fact that luke is going through serious life issues, and literally answered when he'll try to...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

Here is the new model for the EVGA blowers. These things should have vapor chamber heat sinks just like the 10 series founders edition cards, since that's how the previous 10 series EVGA blower cards were. Ontop of that, these things look surprisingly sexy too. The 2080 Ti is probably a little...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

@FAQBytes Apparently the EVGA blower cards use a vapor chamber heat sink... so it should be good as the founders edition cards. So if EVGA makes blowers for the RTX 20 series cards - which they should... I think they will be the perfect choice for everyone who was looking to complete this case...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

@FAQBytes the answer to one of your last edits there - the additional width ( assuming you're looking at Luke's comparison ) was to be able to add 120mm and 240mm radiators, because originally only 92mm fans could fit at the front. There hasn't been any more addition to the width after that and...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

Well I'm pretty sure you can still purchase a blower design from a vendor like Asus, because an open air card like that will destroy the cooling performance in a case like this. But for me, I've planned to do water cooling since day 1, and especially now, it seems like a necessity. I'm probably...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

oh wow so you're saying we've got a community on our hands willing to make a custom NVLink bridge specifically for this case? Jesus man I appreciate whoever is willing to spend their own money and time to make that for us. I'll be willing to pay good money for that because I want some RTX 2070's...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

Well at this point, pretty much the entire lineup of the new cards has been revealed and there are detailed specs for them and everything... including the fact that the RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti are basically stripped down quadro cards, and the fact that they use NVLink for SLI now...

    PCI-E Bifurcation

Does the AsRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming-ITX/ac have properly working PCIe bifurcation? I know the X370 does but I heard from the review of this motherboard that it doesn't work to well... could someone confirm?

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

@LukeD Apparently the GTX 1180 PCB was leaked - it has a new SLI finger... does that mean these cards straight up can't be used in this case?

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

So since my previous laptop was really bad, I went ahead and did a temporary build with some money I had now and continued to save up money for this build. I ended up choosing Ryzen for my platform and went with the Ryzen 5 2600. I know I talked about x299 before on this thread but obviously...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

@Ellimist interesting article. So are you saying that it's possible to trick the drivers into thinking that it's an HB bridge by modifying the cable somehow? And if so, would the cards then just try pushing the full bandwidth across the cables, and would the full bandwidth be unstable or be...

Prototype Project Orthrus - Smallest SLI mATX case (V2)

Hey @LukeD I have a question, and I've been thinking about this for quite awhile now. I was thinking about doing a build in this but with AMD GPU's with Crossfire, and here is why: there is no support for a HB SLI bridge. The custom length SLI cables are cool and all, but I don't believe they...
