    Power Supply EVGA 450/550/650 GM

In case anyone is still following this, I decided to proceed with an RMA... and the second unit also has coil whine.

    Power Supply EVGA 450/550/650 GM

I managed to put my build together just to make sure everything works - so my initial impressions are based on an open NCASE M1. As I suspected, the fan noise on this thing is not a concern for me because it is completely drowned out by my GPU + CPU coolers during full load. At idle, the fan...

    Power Supply EVGA 450/550/650 GM

Ah thanks for the coupon but I already have the PSU on hand. I won't have a chance to put together the build for a couple weeks, but when I do I'll let you know how it goes.

Power Supply Seasonic Focus SGX-650 (SFX-L)

I had a SilverStone SX500-LG (125 mm) in the M1 and the cables did indeed press against the GPU slightly. Functionally, it has been fine and I quickly learned not to worry about it. Regarding this Seasonic unit, I read somewhere that the connectors are actually flush with the PSU, so that...

    Power Supply EVGA 450/550/650 GM

I ended up getting the 650 because the SF600 Plat was taking too long, and I figure the extra 50W would give me some extra peace of mind in my 9900K/2080 build. I think it will be noisy compared to Corsair/Silverstone offerings, but my 2080 FE isn't exactly silent so I'll just have to deal...

Case Study: Air Cooling Inside an NCASE M1

I'm also doing an X52 + M1 build, and I'm wondering what my fan configurations should be to start. Is the X52 pulling from the rad and exhausting it out the side? Are you using a 92mm rear fan? Do you have any bottom 120mm fans?

GPU Geforce 20 series (RTX) discussion thread (E: 2070 Review unbargo!)

Well the reviews are in for the 2080 vs 1080 Ti and I have to admit I'm disappointed. I was expecting at least a minor increase in performance but it looks like it's just on par. Oh well. I was contemplating getting a 1080 Ti and upgrading it with an Accelero Xtreme, but my 2080 is actually...

GPU Geforce 20 series (RTX) discussion thread (E: 2070 Review unbargo!)

Makes total sense. By sacrificing some rasterization performance gains and introducing RTX, they have established a solid win-win situation for themselves: A) Deplete Pascal overstock at discounted prices, or B) Charge a hefty premium for RTX tech Whether you're on a budget or willing to...

GPU Geforce 20 series (RTX) discussion thread (E: 2070 Review unbargo!)

In the same boat.. two months ago I was ready to drop $700 on a 1080 Ti. I ended up pre-ordering the 2080 since it was around the same price, but I'm starting to regret not jumping on the 2080 Ti. I think because it's sold-out but the 2080 isn't. Sometimes I'm just a sucker for these things.

Power Supply SilverStone SX650-G and SX500-G review

Interesting... so do you guys think the increased PSU recommendation is coming from an overclocking point of view, since TDP is usually rated at stock speeds? During the RTX presentation, they briefly mentioned that these new cards would be good for overclocking, but to what extent - I guess we...

Power Supply SilverStone SX650-G and SX500-G review

Wow I actually haven't seen that, I've only seen 1080 Ti with 600W. Good to know! But still, it seems like TDP requirements for CPU + GPU will just continue to increase..

GPU Geforce 20 series (RTX) discussion thread (E: 2070 Review unbargo!)

Edit: Nevermind, I just read @EdZ's response and he is very convincing. Anyway, tin-foil hat on, does anyone think that maybe this is all part of NVIDIA's strategy to sell more of the 10 Series? There must be a ton of stock remaining considering they missed their crypto-related sales projection...

Power Supply SilverStone SX650-G and SX500-G review

Thanks for this update. Seeing as the RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti recommend a 650W power supply, I'm either going to pick up a SX650-G or maybe hold out for the 700W Platinum.

GPU Geforce 20 series (RTX) discussion thread (E: 2070 Review unbargo!)

I'm really hoping the 2080 crushes the 1080 Ti, just to see the ensuing chaos unfold.

GPU Geforce 20 series (RTX) discussion thread (E: 2070 Review unbargo!)

They mentioned that the new reference cooler at full load is only 20% of the noise compared to a 1080 Ti reference cooler. Could be very interesting since I was leaning towards slapping an Accelero with NF-A12s for an M1 build, but if it's as good as they say, I'd be saving a decent chunk of change.
