    News ASRock Rack ROMED4ID-2T Deep-ITX

Back in stock on newegg again (don't buy from the chinese seller, who is definitely a scam); also ran across this adapter which... should work for splitting the SlimSAS outputs on the board into 2x u.2 slots each. I'll probably give it a try. I'm currently stuck waiting for my CPU, as shipping...

    News ASRock Rack ROMED4ID-2T Deep-ITX

These were (very briefly) in stock on Newegg; their auto-notify didn't email me, but I happened to be browsing and got one.

    News ASRock Rack ROMED4ID-2T Deep-ITX

FYI, if anyone was waiting, this is now shipping (from a 3rd-party seller) on newegg; ASRock also has a beta BIOS update available with support for Milan CPUs. Got mine coming, will see about posting up build once I get my hands on a CPU. Update: 3rd-party seller turned out to be a scammer...

News New Ryzen Deep-ITX board from Asrock

ASRock's making another slightly long ITX server board but this time in B550, to go with their existing EPYC board. Looks potentially interesting for compact NAS builds particularly; built in 2x10g (on a good chipset, even), 2xM.2, 4xSATA (plus however many you pull off the PCIE slot with a HBA...

    News ASRock Rack ROMED4ID-2T Deep-ITX

Compares reasonably to (actual price) of a 5950X, or to 3rd-gen rippers, though.

    News ASRock Rack ROMED4ID-2T Deep-ITX

According to the Linus Tech Tips build video using this, you can configure the fan curve on this via IPMI gui, so that's handy. I'm kinda wanting to pick up a 7443p and one of these when available; 24 Zen 3 cores at $55/core, turbo to 4ghz, 200W TDP, 10G on board, RDIMMS, what more could you...

News Toshiba shows off new, smaller NVME format at Memory Summit

That seems like it's going to need a definitely non-zero amount of cooling, especially PCIe 4.0 versions

    S4 MINI Classic (S4M-C)

yeah, that ended up being the fate of my s4m-c... It's still sitting there, sad, because I don't have enough unstripped screws left to get the side to stay on. Though I wouldn't really have a use for it these days regardless as I'm off in matx land now.

Motherboard ASRock EPYC 3000 ITX boards listed now

Interesting little tidbit: their 2019 catalog also says they have models with 3xOCuLink for a total of 14 SATA ports; but not with the 31x1/32x1 processors, so it's likely they have some with 33x1/34x1 versions planned.

Motherboard ASRock EPYC 3000 ITX boards listed now

ASRock has listed a pair of EPYC 3000 mini-itx boards on their site; one with a 3251 and one with a 3101. They look otherwise identical; up to 6 SATA drives (2 on board, 4 via OCUlink), 2x10G lan (using intel x550 parts, not the chipset builtins), 1 M2, and 4 DIMM slots (U/R/LR supported). Like...

Chimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

Just realized the X has 8 slots, not 7, which gives me at least 57 mm and... some amount from the bottom, judging from shots like this so I think I'm likely safe at 65mm and can transfer my threadripper build with "why even have 60 spare pci-e lanes if you're not gonna use them" worth of cards

Chimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

For the Cerberus X, does anyone know what combined radiator+fan width you can fit in the bottom position with a single-slot PCI-E card in slot 3 (from the bottom) is? It should be 38mm + whatever the clearance would be with a single slot card in slot 1, but I'm not clear on what the clearance is...
