Completed MJOLNIR: The minimalistic – but not boring – 9.7L Case

@AlexTzone will it be possible to convert a v1 case fully to a v2? I have my v1 still unopened waiting for hardware and would like to know if I can purchase the parts needed to convert it to a v2. I think the v2 upgrades are big enough to that I want to do it.

The case is indeed something to behold. It feels super hyper premium, really beautiful. It will unfortunately stay unused for a couple of months waiting for the release of an hypotetical 5090 and 9950X3D. So I guess I will be building my system only around Christmas time. The case arrived...

no issues with late shipping with me. I am postponing my build until the 5090 comes out. There are rummors it may come in a two slot configuration and if this is true it will impact my build ( in a positive way ). So I will end up sitting with the case unused for a couple of month anyway.

So I make some tests and the conclusion is that the top part of the bracket, the one with the two big holes can be much shorter and thinner, like almost as thin as the holes themselves. The side bracket can be shortened to next to the top screw holes and that part must be thicker to be able to...

I think if the hole is 7.90mm and the bars 8mm, the bars will not fit the hole! Regarding the screws I think the holes can made so that the head of the hole enters the piece ( not sure how to express this in english ), but basically the face where the screw sits can be inside the bracket such...

the new shortened version I will test ( vs the original sized one): I think it can be even shorter than this. In fact I think a very minimal L will work, so as long as the vertice is thick enough.

I've printed and tested a version that has a thicker side bracket and where that side bracket is cut shot to remove the part bellow the first row of screws. This version does not sag and works very well mechanically. Also the face of the screw holes is flat. I am printing a new moded version...

they don't. if the vertice fails everything below it is meaningless. Regarding the top screws, all the forces converge on that part of the plastic, either from the side or comming from the bottom screws, so the bellow them, that plastic plays no role.

Completed MJOLNIR: The minimalistic – but not boring – 9.7L Case

this is the version that I will try: It is the Alex version with most of the side bracket removed, as it serves no structural function, removal of the tapering from the holes and the really important part, a thicker side mount with the objective of making it able to hold the torsional force of...

That is certainly a very good way of solving the bending issue! But I think if mine works, it will be even better as it will end up being a much smaller piece. Still it remains to be seen if it will work. If it doesn't, this one of yours for sure will!

I have already printed it and it has some issues. I modded it and will print what I believe is an improved version. after that I will leave my conclusions here but what I noticed on the version that Alex posted is: - Regarding the side part where the PSU is secured, the only part needed is the...

got the baka custom cables! now I need a case! But I'm probably make my own. I already bought the cable making kit plus wires and connectors. I really want to put the cables towards the mb and the baka cables are too big for that.
