    Ryzen console PC

Still having issues getting a good stable OC but have made some progress. I had to tone down the CPU a bit to help thermals and as the system is bottlenecked at the iGPU CPU clocks do not matter as much. So now I am in the high 60s low 70s temperature wise and stable. Wierdest problem I had was...

    Ryzen console PC

So far overclock ING has been a mixed bag. This CPU has so much overclock potential but the Chopin case coupled with the stock cooler is holding me back. The only thing I can think of is doing a delid but that would cost around another 6000 in parts. So for now will keep tooling away. What I am...

    Ryzen console PC

I decided I wanted to build an APU PC that could sit beside my Nintendo Switch and be used mainly as a console (steam machine). For this build budget was everything and the only item that I could not get away with cheaply was the itx case as I wanted small and well you have to pay for that...

    The MiniVa11idus Dan A4

Very nice build very clean. How big in Liters is the case? Just wondering because of the ability to fit the GPU and a SFX PSU.

HD Plex 300W Coil Whine and crashes

I think you should be able to run it just fine. I would start checking for possible failures in the system like try another power brick first and if that does not fix it you could have a faulty HDplex cpu or GPU or MOBO (unlikely but hey I have seen stranger things).

    How small can it be?

Yeah I forgot about that part. Still its cool to know you can get that many watts into the S4 mini. Putting a PSU directly into a small form factor case that is less than 3.5 liters with a large GPU could cause some serious thermal issues. At least with the power brick you can hide it reasonably...

    SFF developments in the future?

I am hoping now that AMD is making their new APU's s that they might consider developing smaller boards that can compete with Intel's STX and NUC.

    How small can it be?

Check out this vid , he fits the psu into the S4 Mini... might solve your problems. Not sure about the card but maybe a small form factor card could get you close to the performance of the GTX 1070.I have also seen people using a Pico for the motherboard and a HDPLEX for the GPU in one build. If...

    How small can it be?

Yeah your right. I did not see that the card is 10" long thats a big boy. Would have to do a pretty intense custom build to fit everyhing your asking for into that small of a package. Not sure it would be even possible with thermal issues. If there is a will there is a way!

Take a look at the S4 mini itx chassis I think it might fit your bill. https://smallformfactor.net/reviews/cases/nfc-systems-s4-mini-review

Project BTN: Can it be done? (oh yes!)

Raven Ridge is reported to be a little better than PS4 graphics wich is great but I dont think it is as much as your talking about. Currently the A10 series is around Xbox 360 graphics. I do still think Raven Ridge will be around $200 at least at first until refreshes hit the market. The A10...

Project BTN: Can it be done? (oh yes!)

If I could get my hands on that A12 it would be great because when Raven Ridge comes out I could just swap out. I do not however, see that happening anytime soon. Why would they release that chip so close to the launch of the Raven Ridge? Not only that but an A10 7870k could easly overclock to...

Project BTN: Can it be done? (oh yes!)

Another possible change that I am looking into is the Antec ISK110 case. Its a little bit bigger maybe around 3L giving me a bit more room for cooling. The case comes with a built in 90W psu which would not work for my build but could give me the room once removed to maybe add a couple 40mm fans...

Project BTN: Can it be done? (oh yes!)

I am considering making the jump from the AMD a10 7860k to the A10 7870k the difference being a higher TDP of 95W. On the plus side however, you get a better power management between the IGPU and CPU. For overclocking this looks like it could be beneficial as the CPU is better able to control...

Project BTN: Can it be done? (oh yes!)

Project BTN (Beat the NUC) By now everyone is aware of Intel's NUC Skull Canyon gaming PC and its ultra slim package of goodness. However, there is one big issue with this very cool piece of tech and that's the price. You see the little Skully box claims to be a gaming PC and while you...
