    DAN A4-SFX v4.1

Hi, Does anyone know of any examples in the wild of a Dan Case v3 fitted out with: An SFX power supply, a 120mm AIO cooler, and slim fan (with an itx length graphics card)?? I'm keen to try it but would like to see an example build first. Which orientation does each component go in for the best...

My first PC....please help hoho I'm so scared

@lvoer I just don't think you will be able to fit the 120mm fan anywhere! A 250 Gb drive is plenty big enough for Windows, MS Office, productivity apps, and two or three games. Anything more than that and you can store it on your Barracuda. Your motherboard has an m.2 slot on the back so you...

My first PC....please help hoho I'm so scared

@ivoer Welcome to the forum and to building in the DAN Case! As you've already identified, your CPU cooler is not compatible with your parts selection. I would swap this for a Noctua NHL9i air cooler which will be fine for your locked core i5 CPU. You also don't need the 120mm fan (though its...

I love them all, but the HT5 wins it for my use case of a good looking media PC. Thanks for the chance to enter!

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@n13L5 I agree that this is kind of a niche way to set up the A4, and its driven by the use of the 120mm AIO. (Since that leads to the shorter GPU and the power supply). The reason for it is that I am running the high overclock (5.0Ghz) on the CPU which a noctua nhl9i really struggles with, but...

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@Valantar you are correct with everything you've surmised from my previous posts. If this were a portable build I would look into an internal ac-dc solution but since it just sits at my desk the 330w Dell brick does the job just fine. And yes I believe the most recent hdplex 160 is basically...

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@trundrumbalind I think the Asetek is a good way to go, but I would stick with an SFX psu and not an SFX-L. The zotac doesn't help much as it's not quite small enough to open up any other options.

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

I thought I would add to this post briefly with the pic below. My Dan case now has the addition of a KMPKT Dynamo 360 DC-ATX. This is powering an MSI Aero GTX 1070 GPU... its a nice upgrade from the 1060 3Gb! (And those of you worrying about my HD-PLEX 160 going up in flames can chill out)

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@trundrumbalind I would be very cautious about getting an SFX-L PSU and the Asetek cooler - it will be a tight/impossible fit. (Just check the forums for some pics of the Corsair SFX PSUs with the Asetek beneath - there is basically zero clearance). For the GPU, @dondan has a compatibility list...

    KMPKT Dynamo Troubleshooting Thread

Hi @Kmpkt I just received my dynamo 360 in Sydney (thanks for the help with tracking)! Similar to the poster above, I am trying to use the dynamo 360 with a nearly new hdplex 160, but don't have the black and yellow pig tail to link the 6pin to the 4pin... If you post the pin outs somewhere...

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

Yes, although I bought the unit from the HD Plex website I think it's actually one of the new @Kmpkt Dynamo mini units (I guess they are the same thing in reality?). The power brick is an official Dell 330w unit. I rarely push the unit to its limits as this is mostly a machine for work, but it...

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@artemis I hope not since the PC is used 90% for work at which point the draw from the wall is well under 50 watts, but not a big deal if it fails as Dan says. @dondan thanks for the comment, and yes I love the flexibility with v3, so that even if something goes wrong I can use sfx or hdplex...

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@loader963 , so I tried to fit the ssds in the drive cage below the fan and radiator but it is just too tight of a squeeze for me comfortably get it in without disassembling the whole thing... I still think it may be possible if you did the build in the right order. Some pics are below with just...

    DAN A4-SFX v3 with 120mm aio!!

@Matias Petersen , yes it sure does! The unit gets very hot under high load (modern AAA games) but it has never tripped. @loader963 , I would say yes looking at it with a ruler in hand. Plus the aio mount allows the rad to slide up and down a bit so I could probably push it a little closer to...
