    AsRock Deskmini B760 / B660 STX 12V Input MOD

@sandyware did performance suffer when you did this mod? I went from 74w total package power to 40w. Just curious if you ran into this and if you found a way around it. Thanks!

Ok a little update. So I did the mod and hooked up the meanwell PSU directly to the MB. It does work and there aren't any errors/issues with the system however performance dropped off pretty considerably! So after playing with it for an hour or so I found that the core voltage for the CPU is...

https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/asrock-deskmini-b760-b660-stx-12v-input-mod.19942/#post-291540 I'm going to use sandyware's method. I have not done it yet however. My parts showed up today so I'm hoping I'll get it installed this weekend to try it out!

    Log 2L B760 Deskmini 3050 Build

Hello All, As I near completion with a build I've been working on I figured I'd show my progress and maybe get some input. I started this build with the plan to 3d print a new case inspired by msystems' DeskNano. I initially was just going to go the X600 5700g route but I wanted to be able to...

If you haven't purchased parts then I'd look at the Full copper variant of the x53. If you want whisper quiet then your going to have to find a case that supports a tower cooler IMHO. Granted AMD cpu's run cooler. My 12600k with the x47 FC went to full speed and throttled even when p2 was...

Log My Jonsbo C6 Build (15.9L)

Hello, Been lurking here for a good bit. Finally got my build almost squared away so figured I'd share. This is my daily driver "big" machine (got a smaller build in the works ;) ) It's based off a Jonsbo c6 (no not the ITX....would have made things easier but I've had this longer than the ITX...

Log Why do cases for an APU-Build (no graphics card) Suck?

They also make a x600 variant and I believe the same cases work if you move the cmos battery. I didn't even really think about it but the stock deskmini has provisioning for 2-2.5" sata drives lol. Keep an eye out as newegg often has good mail in rebate offers...

Log Why do cases for an APU-Build (no graphics card) Suck?

ahh.....I guess I should have read the whole thing first lol. So it sounds like your wanting a HTPC? (Home Theatre PC) Have you considered using something like plex and use hardware acceleration? that 12600k should rock in that regard with quicksync. I'm running trunas and plex on a lenovo...

I was going to build a deskmini 8700g myself and use one of msystems cases. Here is his build log. https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/desknano-x300-a-1-2l-replacement-for-the-deskmini-a300-x300.17605/

@sandyware Are you aware of any spots on the motherboard one could pillage 12v power from? I'll likely end up going the same PSU route you took, but it would be nice to be able to power this Tesla P4 I have in mine internally of the board.
