Log Mini PC for work from RVZ03

The Silverstone specs page for that case has detailed measurements....but for CPU cooling you're going to want a downdraft cooler or a 120mm AIO. Looks like a max of 83mm clearance for a CPU cooler.

Discussion Loque filed for bankruptcy 1/24/2024 not good outlook

Crap. That really sucks if true. Guessing they didn’t move near enough RAW cases to cover their investment.

    What did you do today?

If you're hammering, and not touch typing...most switches will feel very similar whether they're tactile/clicky or linear or rubber dome. As you're bottoming out every keypress rather than letting up (before bottoming out). Most people tend to hammer...a matter made more common because people...

    What did you do today?

There's lots of linears out there. I've never used the Glorious ones. My GMMKPro I pull out has lubed Everglide Aquakings in it, definitely doesn't feel like a dome keyboard.

180mm of rads enough for cpu/gpu?

Traditionally, the recommendation has been a 120mm radiator for each high-draw part in the loop. By unit area a 180mm might do you, but you will be running somewhat high air-water delta-T under load.

    What did you do today?

Well this has been a fun last 3 days....my 3 year old wifi router kicked the bucket, so replaced it. Then on midnight New Years, my weather station stopped connecting to wifi (SSIDs and passwords were the same). Did I say fun? I meant expensive. I will say...this TPLink Archer BE800 runs...

Discussion Please Help Me Understand Memory Clock Speeds

So....what you're calling memory clock speeds aren't exactly, even though they commonly are spoken of that way. The DDR speed reference properly they are mega-transfers per second. https://www.crucial.com/support/memory-speeds-compatability Which really gets to be a rabbit hole...because today...

    What games are you playing?

Cities Skylines (1) had abysmal performance problems too, that were never fixed, that similarly got worse and made the game unplayable by mid-game. I do not think 2 will/can be fixed. All the fluff they spouted about using system resources was just that. The other major dud I remember this year...

    What games are you playing?

I was so thinking about buying Cities Skylines 2 last week...Then there's this: Maybe I'll buy it next year on Steam Sale. The 4090 as a 1080 LOW card, what a time to live. What on Earth was the dev/publisher thinking releasing it in such a state. Everyone involved had to know the performance...

    What did you do today?

Be warned...when you're done and in a couple months, you'll wonder 'why didn't I just use a pre-compiled distribution?' 😆 (I did that shit 10 years ago for 'fun')
