Here are a few more pics.... Scaled back the resolution so I could read the details in a photo. Full 180 degree swivel and articulating neck!

Log iMac G4 Flat Panel MINI (NUC powered) at 54% scale

Introduction -------------- I have run across a couple of projects that were the inspiration to this build. One claims to be the world's smallest functioning iMac, but in reality it is a Raspberry Pi running Linux with a MacOS theme, and cannot run real MacOS apps: links below. The second one...

Concept eDP help - iMac G4 Flat Panel - Mini (lamp)

I just got my first NUC, and it has two miniDP on the back, and an eDP on the motherboard (30pin 1.0mm). Does anyone have any real experience working with an eDP port? Can it be used as the primary display (like an embedded project)? I want to 3D print an iMac G4 Flat Panel case at 54%...

    Hackintosh SFF Case Advice Needed

I have found an Flex PSU that is 600W and very small. I bought 2 of them. One will go in a Hackintosh G4 Cube case and the other currently powers my Mac Pro Jr. which includes an e5-2696 v3 (18 core) and an R9 nano with no trouble at all.

    Half-Height 5.25" Floppy Drive computer

Half-Height Floppy computer Concept Build a full working computer with slot-load optical drive inside a half-height 5.25 Floppy Drive (everything a laptop has except KB, trackpad, and screen). I have an old Apple MacBook A1181 with a broken screen. Its been laying around for years, waiting...

-Yes, it is an ASRock x99e-itx/ac. 3.8 rom, 64Gb ram. -The side cover is held on with 4 screws, so both sides match the 12 screw layout. The top and bottom row have 4 screws and 4 hold on the cover. -For finishing, I will likely sand out any deep scratches, then sandblast, and either anodize...

Case complete, installation and testing of computer components: First up, the radiator mount. I made the case size based on the radiator size, so no real mount needed. There is barely a quarter inch on any dimension, and the front panel wires and fan power on one side push it to the limits on...

    Prototype Mac Pro Jr.

The PCI-slot cage took some work. Several ideas, and changes, and once I built it, things changed. So this is the final back plate: I ended up building it wider than I imagined (fat fingers need to be able to unplug DisplayPort latches), and it almost didn't fit on the rear panel. I wasn't...

I know this should all be in the first thread... but I will update it when completed. I completed the internal mounts for the motherboard, so I could find where the IO panel cutout needed to be. I also mounted the power supply to find where that cutout needed to be. I have to build a mount...

    Prototype Mac Pro Jr.

My front panel design has changed due to the mounting and the mesh and not being able to weld/braze it. So for now, it is rough, and I will likely redo it later after all the other parts are complete. I got 3 of 4 motherboard mounts in place. And here is the STL 3D model (without the perf...

Nice, although it looks like it could be top heavy with that small of a base... maybe a kickstand? Do you have a link to the project?

I will share the 3D model in .STL format. I will give overall measurements when it is complete. So when building by hand and not CNC/Laser, the actual dimensions and assembly changes on the fly. Some parts get re-engineered from what I wanted to happen, to the easiest or only way I was able...

Time for the outer shell! Estimated size 24-5/8 x 11-3/4. Again, mostly hand tools and the occasional power tool, this time being a jigsaw. After my sloppy corners, a little hand filing smoothed them out. Then I made my own roller bender with a 1.5 dowel and a 1 inch box tubing scrap. I...

So I ordered some flux and brazing material for aluminum as I only have a stick welder. My MAP torch did not get hot enough or I didn't wait long enough... so I went old school. All screws. This is the progress so far. Completed the basic cage, have to make mounts for most components...
