Motherboard i7 8700 with 64gb RAM on ITX?

So the only options for mini PC with 64gb ram is X299E-ITX (or a laptop supporting 64gb, like at https://www.sagernotebook.com).

Motherboard i7 8700 with 64gb RAM on ITX?

It seems this doesn't exist, but is there a motherboard support 8700 cpu (with or without k) 64gb ram mini ITX (or thin, or STX, or anything tiny). The closest I've found is ASRock Rack, but it only supports Xeons which AFAIK have less clock and a little higher heat (older CPUs)...

Thanks. So my understanding here is that an 8700 and 8700k basically have the same max-ability? If the all-core-boost-clocks are the same, how is an 8700k any more powerful? And how can they have a lower TDP than a 7800x? 7800x has a base clock of 3.5GHz, so shouldn't it actually have a lower TDP?

Wow, amazing community here! "TDP ratings are based on the base clock, which no one cares about really" So the lowest (non-'turbo' etc. clock speed of a single core? Or base-clock * cores? Anyhow... does this mean TDP is really useless? Is there any other measure to understand how much heat...

Oh, so this motherboard, http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/X99E-ITXac/ Can support 64gb of ram if I use 32gb chips? But where can I buy 32gb ram cards to fit into it? The x99 would also allow me to use an 8700k, as far as I know, right? So that'd actually be perfect (if RAM is affordable).

    News ASRock Unveils the X299E-ITX/ac: Mini ITX + X299 + Quad-channel Memory

Well, I do need 64gb of ram, which is why I'm looking at this. 8700k (or Ryzen) 64gb of ram SSD (of better, NVMe) As small and silent as possible. Passive cooling is ideal, but I think impossible here, unless I build my own case with vapor-chamber madness. The only 64gb motherboards I can find...

The reason I'm thinking to skip this motherboard, is that Skylake X seems to hot for me. an 8700k gets better performance than a 7800x, and it's only 95W vs 140W. I wish they made this exact same board, but supporting different CPUs.

Nice build... why are the 7820x and 7800x the same TDP? What about undervolting for lower TDP?

So if you don't need 3 m.2 drives, you might as well remove this, right? I feel like I'm missing something. Having the power supplied by an external brick means 1 - Smaller case (a custom case could be made 6.8 x 6.8 x cooler height [put a massive Dark Rock in if you want a 7" cube, about...

    News ASRock Unveils the X299E-ITX/ac: Mini ITX + X299 + Quad-channel Memory

I was wondering about that, so would the 1050 be the best bet for low-power / low-TDP gpu? I'm trying to build a small, silent, powerful machine that can fit in my backpack. The brick means less heat / potentially more airflow if I build a custom-case, and also can better fit in a backpack (I...

I don't need a GPU (not gaming) so the only power I'm drawing (mostly) would be CPU, yes? But maybe 100% power draw is still unhealthy for the power supply? His custom bricks look really nice anyhow, and the price isn't bad.

    News ASRock Unveils the X299E-ITX/ac: Mini ITX + X299 + Quad-channel Memory

Probably been asked, but would it be possible to power this using an external laptop power brick? Maybe using a pico PSU? Maybe something like this, https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6dV48d/athena-power-power-supply-apmfatx25 And just wrap that in something to make it more... protected so I an...
