Thanks. I've updated the original post with a link to the riser card, since I can no longer find the riser + baffle in one lot. The baffle link works fine, you'll just have to buy the two separately and hey Superbuy to consolidate it for you.

Pleasure. Yeah, that's what I did in the end, I bought an(other) M920q off eBay with the lowest model Pentium Gold CPU (£150), then bought an i9-9900T (8C/16T) off Taobao through Superbuy. I have a short thread on that as well.

I think you'll be limited on space within the box, there is only room for one 2.5" drive OR a PCIe card, not both. You could put in a SATA card and then use an eSATA connection to an enclosure, or potentially put in a PCIe card with 2x m.2 slots in, but then I would be worried about thermals...

Yeah, there were some discussions about this in a Japanese forum. Buying the 135W power adapter to replace the 65W they generally come with gets you up to a 2x performance increase with some thermal impact. So far the fan has been inaudible and temperatures are fine, but I'll keep an eye on it.

    Discussion i9-9900T (8C/16T 35W TDP) in a Lenovo M920q (~1L case)?

It's explained in the description. Package 1 is the 9900T, 2 is the normal 9900, and 3 is the 10900T (10C/20T) which I was not aware existed. The 9900T is about $370 depending on how much you get charged for exchange rates. Then about $18 I think for Superbuy to do the work for you, and then...

Of course. You can buy it direct through your own shopping agent here or through Superbuy here. It took 2 days for Superbuy to buy the item and receive it in China, photograph it etc., then a day for me to approve it (given timezone differences and whatnot I missed the Chinese working day on...

Discussion Lenovo M720 Tiny and M920 Tiny can support a 4 port NIC for firewall duties

Just for reference, as mentioned elsewhere here I've bought an M920q Tiny and replaced the Pentium Gold it had with a retail i9 9900T (8C/16T - Passmark about 17,000) which I also sourced through Taobao via Superbuy for ~$370 including shipping. It's quite a beast and meets my need for a compact...

Retail. I discussed the reasons for deciding this in the post at the start of this thread.

Ouch. Want the link to the bare CPU I bought? I used Superbuy as buying and shipping agent, was easy and fast.

    Discussion i9-9900T (8C/16T 35W TDP) in a Lenovo M920q (~1L case)?

Updating this thread - I bought an i9 9900T from Taobao for ~$342 plus about $20 of shipping. Arrived in 10 days which included Christmas! I've installed it tonight in the Lenovo M920q as I described above. It's a pretty simple operation, about 20 minutes including wondering where my screwdriver...

That is a fantastic deal, but me being in the UK would add quite a lot of cost to that even if I could convince them to sell it to me, a 20% import duty and ~$70 in shipping. But thanks for pointing it out, I'll see if HP UK gets desperate as well.

    Discussion i9-9900T (8C/16T 35W TDP) in a Lenovo M920q (~1L case)?

Hello again, Yes, I'm (not very) sorry I keep raising the Lenovo Mx20q series boxes, but in a central London flat they're a Godsend for home lab requirements. I saw that the i9 9900T is a standard configuration for the M920q Tiny according to Lenovo. 8 cores with 16 threads would be great for...

Hi, welcome to the M720q-as-a-router club. 😉 I see you've figured it all out yourself, but I'll answer anyway since people use these threads as reference and it annoys me in forums when people ask "Can you help me with <the exact same problem I have>?" and then say, "don't worry, I solved it...

Sorry for the delay in responding. It should in theory, and you probably have the riser already in place? The only concern I would have is that I think the P320s have an extended heatsink to look after the graphic card (if it was ever fitted) which may or may not get in the way. I think it will...

Yes, not surprisingly, it is. It's defined with great precision in section 6 here. So you should be fine with any card, your only risk is if there is a Lenovo BIOS whitelist which blocks it.
