I used the same PSU in my build and I agree, custom cables are all but required to make managing cables even possible.

It's really interesting to me how much the guys over at /r/sffpc seem to despise the Winter One. Reading the Linus video thread comments they are just ripping every single part of the case apart. Very weird given the general activity of the community.

Wow I missed this comment! Seems like everyone knows where to go to get the goods! I'm going to give it a shot, I bought a positive side one that hopefully won't interfere with the power switch. If it does I may try a 3d printed spacer for clearance.

For sure! Long story short, Nvidia skimped on the thermal pads for the 3090FE (some other manufacturers may have as well but the FE was a serious offender) and as a result the card, but more specifically the GDDR6X runs very hot. Nvidia claims the GDDR6X they use has a max heat load of 105C...

After a few days of using the PC I have to say I continue to be impressed with the thermal performance of the case. The most notable effects were on the 3090 FE I have installed. Some measurements I've noted: 3090 in nr200, no thermal pad mod - Memory temps 108C (ouch) in 5 minutes of heavy...

I've (temporarily) admitted defeat for the watercooling portion of this build. After getting the wrong thread screws for replacing the radiator and finding out that my 90 degree compression fittings don't allow the radiator to sit at the top of the case due to interference from the GPU, I've...

Unfortunately for me I'm using a Silverstone PSU for the build since it was way easier to get my hands on when everything was out of stock. It's a good PSU but custom cable makers are all about Corsair. I'll have to look into making my own, it's been a while since I made any custom cables, but...

Yeah I think there's not much more to shave off, I can get the 8pin side of the adapters to the safe area but the wires aren't flexible enough to stay out of the way without assistance. I figure if I can ever get a custom cable made with plain wire it would probably be fine, but I can't find a...

I've hit a much larger snag in the build process than just the radiator screws. The 3090's power connector was interfering with the front fan on the radiator, for which the fix appears to be to swap the radiator with the fans. This works in theory , but if you're not using a GPU water block then...

Yep, ended up having to pause since I didn't have the right screw lengths for the radiator and fans. it was fun while it lasted though.

For those of you with nothing better to do on this nice friday you're welcome to join me on Twitch (thedrunkennomad) while I make a fool of myself building in the Winter One, it's going to be fun probably.

@WinterCharm the new manual looks pretty good, have some questions for you regarding the Cable lengths section: For the 6 pin power cable > pump bracket/ drive cage, I assume we can substitute SATA or Molex runs at the same length for these items? Maybe it's too early for me to be thinking...

I have my Logitech dongle plugged into my monitor because there seemed to be too much interference when I plugged it into the back of my Loque which was ~3 ft away from my mouse. Who knows though maybe I'm doing something wrong. If it is an interference problem I imagine you're going to be out...

I just updated my pledge for two cases as well. I was already planning to build a new computer, why not upgrade the old one at the same time?

Prototype The world most flexible SFF case? LOUQE Ghost S1

I have had a 1080Ti and Ryzen 1700X running on an SF450 for over a year with no problems whatsoever, peak power consumption was ~420W when I had everything at 100% load for crash testing (I thought I was crashing due to power consumption, not the case). Then again I run mine at stock/factory OC...
