Discussion OptiPlex XE3 SFF GPU suggestions

You may be losing more performance than you think. On the version of that board they released with the 8th Gen Intel processors, that upper slot is not PCIE 3.0x4, but PCIE 2.0x4 with further halves the bandwidth. Perfect for a capture card, not so much for a full GPU.

Discussion OptiPlex XE3 SFF GPU suggestions

If it helps (and you don't mind the risk of an exposed PSU) I have a Dell Optiplex 7060 with much the same specs as the XE3 (i7-8700/32GB). In order to make room for my A2000 6GB, I ended up pulling apart the power supply after leaving it for a week (making sure the capacitors were never...

Discussion What Setup Options for on-the-go VESA mount Portable Monitors

While this won't be as useful for most machines, if you machine has Thunderbolt USB-C you can usually get away with all-in-one USB-C cable solution. The ThinkVision M14t is a 14" monitor that can be had for $150 on Ebay and features a touch screen 14" panel with USB passthrough.

CPU Need 12V 200W minimum power brick

That aside, most gaming laptop/standard laptop power adapters rely on 19.5V for power transfer specifically for amperage reasons. You may be able to wire yourself a buck converter if you strictly need 12V.

    GPU NVIDIA Tesla P4 LP

The P4 doesn't offer additional performance over the A2000 I currently have, but it is certainly much cheaper. As a starter GPU for an 8-9th gen Optiplex system, I think it's a fantastic GPU for budget users! Personally I'm interested in the t4, but prices on those are still astronomical...

Motherboard How do I find the pinout of a proprietary header? (Thinkstation P360 Ultra)

Thank you so much, I'll be the first to test this! Initially I'll start with the 4060LP but I hope to get an Intel ARC Battlemage chip if they ever make one :)

Motherboard How do I find the pinout of a proprietary header? (Thinkstation P360 Ultra)

I finally have some time this weekend to probe the case. I'm new to probing; can you recommend a guide or advice on how I should do this?

GPU Look at what I have (Low Profile 3050 8GB DDR6)

I don't mean to be captain obvious here, bht wouldn't there be more performance overall with the A2000 even at 6GB of video memory because of the dual slot LP GPU chamber? What was the cost of that little guy?

GPU ASRock ARC A380 Low Profile

I'm actually quite optimistic. Intel seems to be pulling a leaf from AMD's FineWine technology platform, but we'll see if that statement ages like Optane. Especially on older platforms (ala Dell Optiplex) systems , the 3.0 x8 config is far superior to 4.0 x4. 6GB of VRAM is nothing to sneeze...

CPU Dell Optiplex sff 9020 graphics card

I can tell you it would! I have a T1000 and it stands head and shoulders over the RX 6400, but the CUDA count (~950 something if I remember correctly) is by far the limiting factor. I never maxed out RAM with the games I play, but performance was subpar. DLSS for the A2000 is honestly such a big...

CPU Dell Optiplex sff 9020 graphics card

If you really want to go sketch, for certain Dell power supplies you can recover just enough clearance to install an RTX A2000 or low profile GTX card by cutting through the power supply casing. Obviously, separating the casing from the power supply during this process, ensuring the metal of the...

Motherboard How do I find the pinout of a proprietary header? (Thinkstation P360 Ultra)

Relevant question to you though: does the A2000 have any pads or whatnot onboard that power could be routed to?

Motherboard How do I find the pinout of a proprietary header? (Thinkstation P360 Ultra)

Unfortunately my multimeter probes are a little large for those very tiny pins. I hope I can avoid shorting them; I'll open up the machine and strip out the internal components down to the CPU/1 DIMM before I begin probing.

GPU Will this T1000 GPU on eBay fit & work on my Lenovo M920x Tiny PC?

Hang on, is that window in the side panel for the CPU fan? If so, I would recommend agains the OEM cooler; it would have no intake for are being completely covered by the side panel. If you've ordered it, I guess it's for science now!

Concept RTX A2000 Single Slot Cooler Mod - Rebirth

I received the P360 Tiny for an exclusive price as part of a bin deal. The recycler I bought it from presumed it was an older model and I got it for pennies on the dollar.
