News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Seems like the minimum power limit setting in afterburner was causing my card to crash. Just increasing it by 1% above the minimum and it hasn't crashed in a while.

    Streacom’s VU1 – Analogue

This is really exciting. So it appears the "server software" can used offline on a local lan, and there is no cloud BS being forced on you. This opens the possibility to many industrial and automotive uses. And there is Linux support. I'll be getting these to try and integrate them as analog...

    Pinout for Dell 220w brick?

The stringent part is atx spec is actually the ripple voltage - for 12v rail I think it's 120mv. It's this spec that less specialized 12v psu can't meet, some don't even publish their ripple spec. Not every brick meets that spec. The da-2 does though. And some psu like HDplex are...

    Pinout for Dell 220w brick?

I'm not sure if it needs to be connected but yes it is a sense wire of some sort according to Google search. 12.2v is well within atx spec and is ideal idle voltage for the 12v rail so that under load it will still be above 12v (spec 11.4 - 12.6v)

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

The cable isn't loosening up is it? Ive noticed that happen quite a few times. Also getting crashes where the fans spin up to 100%. Haven't narrowed it down to the gpu though.

CPU Need 12V 200W minimum power brick

I'm pretty sure there are 12v dell bricks in the 200-250w range like the Dell DA-2, which uses a funky 8 pin output however to get around the limitations of the dc barrel.

Concept Battery powered mini gaming desktop

You can use usb-pd supply with Framework Mainboard also. As for monitoring the battery level in windows, it's not going to happen easily because cause that needs custom drivers and sensors on the battery (or board) itself which communicates with windows. The closest solution I found to that...

CPU Gallium Nitride PSU Deskmini X300

Some of us have experimented and found that USB-c chargers are not true replacements for power supplies with DC barrel output, something gets messed up in the usb-pd delivery protocol and it doesn't work as intented, or rather, it works but inconsistently between devices/chargers To give it a...

    Completed J-HACK LANDER for Deskmini

Since we don't have pictures of the board yet, and every thing published by ASRock so far seems to just be "boilerplate", its hard for me to say for sure if Lander is 100% compatible, but it was designed to be as compatible as possible. If the x600 will use the exact same chassis design (and...

40mm cooling mod for HDplex 250w GAN

News ASRock Readies Next-Gen DeskMini & DeskMeet PCs With AMD X600 & Intel B760 Motherboards

From the spec sheet at ces the rear io is unchanged with only two USB 3.2g2 instead of adding another two USB to the rear for some reason. Unknown if that is because of a limitation of Amd's die or just laziness at asrock. https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/GTRkdSx24LWWrqUhmwGtyR.jpg Seems...

Storage Powering 3.5 inch hard drives

Are you asking if you can split the Nuc's power supply? You certainly could if it's a 12v supply (and not 19v), provided there aren't too many drives that would require more current than it can deliver. Newer Nucs tend to be 19v though. If its a 19v supply then you need to add a small step...

    Discussion Questions about topflow coolers

The sweet spot is either 37mm L9 or axp36 cu with a 75w/90w target (short duration, long duration) or 47mm axp47 cu with a 125w/145w target. Since the axp90-47 is so strong there isn't really much higher tdp gains by going to 55-60mm, but you get lower noise by unlocking 120mm fan models and...

Storage Powering 3.5 inch hard drives

Yes since Nuc, STX and other industrial boards/ laptop boards don't distribute internal 12v power to the SATA and only supply 5v to sata you have to come up with another way to get the 12v whether it be Y-splitter on the input side to a dc-dc converter, or with a separate psu entirely. Also...

News ASRock Readies Next-Gen DeskMini & DeskMeet PCs With AMD X600 & Intel B760 Motherboards

It is pretty good Intel has caught up, although they won't put that in a desktop chip we can expect to see those chips show up in the asrock industrial stx and nucbox series, and possibly Erying will bring this to their itx hybrid board.
