RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

You could try the Densium 4+. The Zotac Card is 10mm too long on paper, but you might be able to shave them off by getting rid of the backplate and deshrouding the card. Worst case, you need to cut the fins on the upper side of the heatsink. I'm almost 100% sure you can make it fit... with some...

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

That' not correct afaik. The 3070 you're talking about is (the very rare) Asus 3070 Dual SI Edition. It uses the same PCB as the Asus 3060 Phoenix. However, this is NOT the reference PCB which the Palit Heatsink is made for. I highly doubt it will fit without any modifications. I'm not sure...

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

It's alive! World's smallest dual fan 3060 Ti ;-) Using the Palit StormX Heatsink, a custom 3d printed shroud and two Akasa 80mm Slim fans. Running the first tests and results look really promising: Furmark (200W load, 15 minutes) 100% Fan speed: 67°C GPU / 79°C Hotspot 50% Fan speed: 79°C...

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

Thanks! Just to be clear: You will still need the StormX heatsink. I'll just replace the single fan shroud with a bracket to attach two fans of your choice and direct airflow onto the heatsink. It will almost certainly increase the thickness of the card though.

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

FWIW, I did some research a while back which 3060 Ti cards are compatible with the StormX Heatsink: - PNY XLR8 - Inno3D Twin X2 - KFA2 non-EX - Palit Dual - Gainward Ghost - Manli - Dell OEM - Lenovo OEM - Any RTX A4000 (PNY, Dell, Lenovo, HP) I'm pretty sure there's even more. So feel free to...

Stalled [New Video Assembly] Densium 4 & 4+ - Tiny cases with real hardwood frontpanel!

Thanks for the feedback! Gotta agree with you. Really liked the first take in theory, but didn't really work after all. I've already tweaked the dimensions a little bit, made it a bit wider and reduced the height. I'll print the next revision over the weekend, let's see! Glad you like it.

Stalled [New Video Assembly] Densium 4 & 4+ - Tiny cases with real hardwood frontpanel!

After not finding the time for it over the summer, I've recently come back to designing a custom front panel for the OG Densium 4 V1. I wanted to include a 80mm front fan, a card reader for SD and CFexpress and USB A and C. After some failed attempts at working with metal or wood, I've settled...

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

Damn you @Runamok81 ! Before your posts I was happy with choosing the 3060Ti over the A4000. Now I want one too 🤣 I wouldn't tinker with the VBios. Nvidia has historically been really restrictive with such mods on their workstation cards and I suspect it got even more complicated in the wake...

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

If you want more power than the 3060ti the only real option seems to be the RTX A4000 even though it's not much. You might be able to overclock it if you can bypass the voltage lock. As it uses the 3070Ti GPU and has 16GB Vram there should be more than enough headroom.

I'll make a 47mm cooler fit. Stay tuned :D Still pretty ambitious. On an open Testbench my Thermalright X47 Full Copper can handle the 12700k at ~120W before it begins to throttle.

That's the plan for now. Need to keep that 12700k in check. Not sure if it's even going to help - but worth a shot.

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

I thought long and hard about whether to get the A4000 for my next SFF Build. It was a valid alternative, especially before the recent GPU price drop and as I could use the extra Vram for video production. In the end I got a good deal for a 3060 Ti and went that road. I did quite a bit of...

RTX 3060Ti Aero alternative? Meet the DIY PALIT StormX 3060Ti ITX Edition

The most powerful card you can "shrink" to ITX dimensions atm is the RTX A4000. You can use the same cooler mentioned in this thread. The PCB is pretty much identical to the Reference 3060 but uses a lower clocked 3070Ti GPU and comes with 16gb Vram. Due to the lower clock (workstation card an...
