thanks phuncz,i will give that a go.looking at the datasheet i was thinking it might have needed a seperate 5v supply to turn on but that makes no sense as this would mean a separate 5v psu so couldnt figure it out.i guess this means it just operates like an external allways on power brick...
hi,recently bought the meanwell epp 400 and can see from the manual where to wire in the 240 input and 12v output but the original pics of wiring are no longer available how do i switch it or will it just go live when connected to mains voltage?
I told Larry at the time I solved my issue by grounding the sense wire, maybe he thought it was a one off. if not he may have been let down by a supplier,I doubt he makes the cables in house
so from my limited understanding with that wiring it would never pull more than 240 with a dell brick which its supposed to work with, what are you powering the plex with,a meanwell? are you powering the system in your sig with it or a second lower powered system?
no,i opened the brick up and soldered a link wire from the sense wire to the earth wire where the main power cable leaves the pcb,it worked for me but cant guarantee if it would work for anyone else or even if its safe!
you could probably just do it easier on the hdplex wire or the plug if you...
I don't know maybe from what your saying I got sent 2 early V2's somehow or an early lead but earthing the ground pin in the dell unit solved all the problems with both the v2's I had .Tho the second one he sent to try came without leads so I used one lead on both units.I told Larry what I did...
finally got this sorted actually a couple of weeks ago now, still dont know which part was/is at fault.
i came across an old discussion about getting dell 330 watt bricks to work on laptops that normally run 240 watt dell bricks, that community had tried putting 240 watt "sense" i.d chips into...
not sure about the z chipset, they may have been better built but they will have more likely had a long hard life by now and they still go for pretty strong money.secondhand h6 and h7 chipsets are dirt cheap relativily, ebay has quite a lot just look at whats on them usb 3 isnt guaranteed on the...
No experience with the case but looks very restrictive remove any filters on intakes + undervolting probably only chance of putting side panel on. depends what your running of course.if the PSU is running up near its rating maybe a higher rated PSU or more efficient may generate less heat? With...
The default position seems to be to blame the bricks but I've seen a couple of threads where people got a second brick and had the same problem which is also my experience.
they had their problem solved when they got a good Plex but I've received a second one but it's faulty too (apparently...
