Really like that G5 design, but I'm still concerned about how functional the top handles are. If they're just decorative, it might be nice to leave them on the bottom as feet, but remove them from the top.

@Wahaha360 That G5 kit actually looks pretty rad. Would the handle attachment actually be sturdy enough to carry the box around?

For those interested, the EPDM tubing that McMaster sells is indeed coming without printing. There are also no lengthwise lines that notbitcoin encountered. It looks good. They also sell Tygon/Norprene that is still being printed, although the printing comes off with minimal effort.

If it's the same mesh on the T1, it's steel. The only saving grace here is that it will likely not be directly grounded, but a significant loss of signal quality could still be observed.

Mesh will also cause a problem. You'd essentially be enclosing the entire PC in a Faraday cage.

notbitcoin is saying the stuff they've ordered is unprinted. I'm making a new order at work, so we'll see if they're still doing it. Yesterday I looked at the stuff we currently have deployed, and the markings can be scraped off for the most part. So either way, it's not a big deal.

Can't say that in 5 years I've ever gotten EPDM/Tygon from McMaster that wasn't marked. In any case, wall thickness is not the only factor. Tube diameter plays a big role in how readily it will kink. The 1/4ID x 3/8OD also has the same wall thickness, but doesn't kink either. It may be that...

Whatever tubing you're using, I'm pretty sure it's some other type of rubber/plastic. It appears from the photos like it's seemed, and EPDM is seamless. All commonly available EPDM should also be marked as such unless, like I assume EK did, you contract with the factory to get it without...

They are also printed. It's important for professional applications so you can plan interventions/expansions appropriately. To be fair, the printing is not that intrusive. It's sort of a soft gray, and typically only on one side. Some strategic installation would conceal the vast majority of it.

As forestpatrol pointed out, you can get it at McMaster, but I'd advise against it. The walls at 3/8ID x 1/2OD are too thin for EPDM, and the tubing has pretty much zero bend tolerance before kinking/collapsing. I use a lot of this stuff at work, and would strongly suggest 1/4ID x 1/2OD. Even...

Is the eventual two-toned version still planned to be black/silver instead of gray/silver? Will gray silver ever be an option?

Fair enough. Look forward to seeing the plan for this one.
