I'm probably in the minority here but I'd appreciate if there was more flexibility in horizontal orientation for optionality to prioritize CPU or GPU thermals (e.g. supporting the screw-in feet from either side), and/or deeper included feet to improve performance when laid flat.

Eagerly awaiting your results. I had to unbox and install the only C7G I was able to find recently as my 645LT was giving me strange pump noise issues (air bubbles) even at low pump header RPM. The C7G was a bit of a surprise coming from the Black Ridge before.

Try the Noctua rubber mounting nipples. They provide a little bit of extra clearance to help prevent fan blade issues. The stock black ridge fan is really awful though — can’t stand the noise profile above 35%. I can see why everyone replaces them with the NF-A9x14 now.
