    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

I had the fan set as intake. Check a couple pages back and you'll see my detailed posted with pictures and my results. The L9A outperformed the is-47k by 10+ degrees. Edit: Post #76 on page 4

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

I'm glad to see it wasn't just me who had such a poor experience with this cooler. I too thought there might be a design flaw or manufacturing issue with early batches or something. The results were just awful and unacceptable. The L9A outperforms it by 10-15 degrees. I had full contact, fully...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

I'm glad to see the other results from the 3700x with the fan pointed at the motherboard were poor and it wasn't just me and possible user error. I've been building systems for 20+ years now so I struggled a bit to figure out how I could have messed this up. I should have tried the fan...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

To add, the fan on the IS-47K was set to intake, not exhaust. See picture 19 of 22 which shows how I originally mounted the noctua fan as intake on the heatsink. This was prior to test fitting on the mobo which forced me to wedge the fan closer to the curve of the heatpipes. I did not try it...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

My IS-47K arrived two days early and after 2.5 hours of forcing it onto my Gigabyte x570i motherboard in a K39v2 case, I finally ran P95 to test performance. Long story short, 8-10 hotter than an L9A with 10mm fan shroud (note a slight ambient temp increase). Noise is also louder than the L9A...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

Ordered mine from JHack https://j-hackcompany.com/?product=id-cooling-is-47k-cpu-cooler It looks like it's incompatible with the gigabyte x570i board however. I'll try it out when it arrives on Wednesday and would be happy to sell it to you at cost if I end up not keeping it. I'm actually very...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

We'll find out soon. I thought I had canceled my order but it ended up shipping today so I will test it next weekend and see if it fits the x570i. I'll post results when I have them

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

That's very helpful, thank you. I'm going to cancel my order unfortunately. I've been happy with the results and acoustics of the L9A so no need to tear my system apart and have to modify it further to make this work.

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

Do you have any more pictures of the cooler you can post? Maybe a couple on the gigabyte board? I thought it was purposely designed not to overhang the RAM at all? There isn't any additional spacing between the top of the motherboard and the power supply so it sounds like it won't fit in this...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

@Thehack Thanks for posting the results of thermal testing. I'm concerned about the motherboard compatibility list though. I have a gigabyte x570i in a k39v2 with FlareX ram. You listed the cooler as incompatible with tall ram and show that it overhangs the top of the mobo by 16mm. I don't...

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

For those interested, I installed the JHack 10mm high-RAM fan shroud yesterday on an L9A Chromax in a K39v2 case and CPU temps dropped about 4-6 degrees. Very impressive difference. My 3700x also boosts more aggressively and maintains higher clock speeds 50-100mhz during gaming. Well worth the...

    Will my SF450 run a Ryzen 7 3700x and 2070 super?

Not sure where or how you came up with 150w for the 3700x but mine has never exceeded ~90-95w total usage. Typical usage is about 80-86w. Regardless, 450 is plenty

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

I'm surprised to see how well the axp90 performed compared to the black ridge and c7g. Would be curious to see how the L9A performs and soon, the IS-47K. I worry about fan turbulence with the axp90 being so close to the side panel vs an L9A or black ridge setup.

    Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

After building in the K39 for the first time today, I'm tempted to cancel my order so I don't have to tear apart the system again. But, I haven't done any testing yet with the L9A and my 10mm duct from JHack is scheduled to arrive Saturday so I will see how the L9A performs first. I actually...
