I got my 6th batch white case on Friday and built it at the weekend, here are some thoughts. Outside: 1. It's big, but in a good way. I'm coming from what's essentially the same size as a normal (non-gaming) Mini-ITX system, specifically a dell Optiplex 790 USFF. While I knew from the...

It looks like a Sapphire 7850 or 7870 to me. Having the power connectors on the end used to be fairly common.

So do you have less than 150 black cases left? Or will you make the 7th consignment oversized, mix some black cases in with the White ones of the 6th consignment or do something else entirely?

I can't speak for the US specifically but generally the delivery company handles the paperwork. You won't have to do anything except pay the customs charges/tax and whatever the delivery company charges for the service (usually about £15 here) when they send you the bill. Depending on the...

Intel has had a lot of revisions of it's stock cooler over the years, I wouldn't discount it being in their parts catalogue. They've definitely had models of that weight, for example: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2335 Although the extra shroud may be a dell addition. Can...

Yeah, there's 47-48mm total clearance, so ducted top-down fan coolers like that only work if they're even lower than that, otherwise there's a lot of noise and turbulence from the vents, the C7 was causing this behaviour. On the [H] forum the L9 is proving popular, I believe the AM4 brackets...

Do you need an 81W Skylake right now? If you bought the 81W Skylake because it was faster when the 65W one would have done the job then the same logic will apply to coffee lake.

    Advice on getting into sff

I'm not sure you can call it SFF unless you are making compromises, that's the interesting bit. How do you feel about increased noise levels? Would they be an acceptable compromise for something that met all your requirements.

Yours was a black case wasn't it? I'd think you've got a good chance of being in the 5th consignment, the one they're currently working on. If we assume it gets sent at the end of next week and takes six weeks to get to Australia then that would be late August.

Don't sell it, being a K suffix CPU you can always reduce the clock speed & voltage to reduce the heat output, sometimes you can even set the TDP limit itself. Swapping it for another i5-6000 won't bring any benefit. Whether it'll be fine as is depends on what frequency you're currently running...

The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold, And his cohorts were gleaming in azure and gold; And the sheen of their hooks was like stars on the sea, When a Sentry shipped out to a new consignee.

I think you've got the order wrong there.

The USB Power Delivery spec specifies mandatory voltage support at different wattage levels, so everything over 45W has to support 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V. Although 12V support is optional.

Prebuilt Searching for shuttle-like barbone for broadwell

There are lots of options among normal mini-ITX cases if you can find a motherboard, I'd probably favour something like a Jou-Jye 528 or 568 instead of the Antec since it's got an internal PSU instead of a power brick.

All the ones in the link are supported by BIOS 102, yet there's a BIOS 103 whose release notes read 'Add new CPU support". And as far as I know the last non-broadwell LGA1150 CPUs were released were i3-4170 refresh which are on the list as being supported by BIOS 102. It's certainly possible...
