Going off the topic title, are you planning to provide a choice of wood type (assuming you go with wood)? I agree with Windfall about darker wood colors looking nice, but we could be just a vocal minority.

I'm happy to see you are continuing this project. I'd find it even more appealing if it had wood panels. Would set it apart from any other STX case available.

I'm curious what you are thinking here. Are you thinking of having the GPU sit above the CPU cooler with the help of a riser (sort of like the HDPLEX H1)? The would create a pretty neat trade-off between the GPU build and APU build (i.e., by giving up the GPU, you get more height for your CPU...

Your STX case design is incredible! Do you plan to have the grill/mesh removable? Seems like this could be a neat case for running a passively cooled STX system, with a giant heatsink poking out the top (I have that passive CPU heatsink that Noctua is developing in mind).

On this topic: I think the thickness of the back panel would have prevented me from screwing in the wifi antennas (not enough threading comes out the other side) had I needed to use those holes. Maybe the connectors that came with my WiFi card were abnormally short.

Ah yes, you're probably right. It seems that the L12S can be installed, but the I/O shroud pushes the cooler upward slightly. That may not be a problem if you've got some mm to spare above the cooler.

I did some looking around, but I couldn't find any standards on holes and spacing. I did find some other useful information, though. Most wifi antennas use RP-SMA connectors; the part that has to pass through the case has a 6.35 mm diameter and is secured to the case with an 8 mm hex nut...

They are typically just hole punch-outs on the back panel next to the motherboard I/O shield. The Deskmini enclosure and the Silverstone VT02 both have them -- see here: https://smallformfactor.net/wp-content/uploads/IMG_4186.jpg.

Glad to help! The hole I drilled allows a tiny bit of wiggle in the connector, so 12.5 mm is probably just right.

Do you mean the 5.5/2.5 barrel connector or the 4 pin DIN connector? I think the spec sheet for the 5.5/2.5 connector can be found on one of Mini-Box's pages (click the DC power jack connector link in the downloads box). Looks like you need a 10.8 mm hole for that one? I'm pretty bad at reading...
