Does being vaguely like the old 8-bit computers due to being a computer inside the keyboard count as nostalgic or retro?

Which of J-Hacks shrouds fits in the Sentry anyway? I was looking at grabbing one but don't know which to get.

Discussion Question about GPUs and PCI

Define "Will work" PCIe is forwards and backwards compatible. If you have a PCIe device and plug it into a PCIe slot it should function, though older versions and fewer lanes means slower operation. Low profile vs regular profile is a purely physical trait and has no impact on the actual data...

Discussion How would you power a sata SSD using thin mini itx motherboard DC-Input?

If it has 2 SATA data ports, then it should be able to power 2 SATA devices. The official requirement is about 12 watts per drive split between 12VDC and 5VDC and a bit less than a watt of 3.3VDC (a note that the Thin mITX standard hasn't been updated or revised any time recently, 3.3V has been...

Yeah, I'd definitely suggest waiting a bit to plan around a new card. Best to wait for reviews before making a purchase rather than buying sight unseen anyway, and once those are out, you'll be better able to make a determination on what will and won't fit physically and thermally. I have my...

Is the 12VDC sense line also lopped straight back or did you actually send that all the way down? Kinda hard to tell. Looks about right to me. Not sure how the pass-through can be better explained. Seems clear to me.

    Storage M.2 Health?

I've had a RAID-5 array fail after just a couple months. Anyway there's plenty of free and cheap paid options for backup so just poke around. The one that comes with Windows is serviceable. You can backup to an external USB drive, but I prefer to use a network drive, personally. Don't have a...

    Storage M.2 Health?

Well you should always be doing regular backups regardless of what you're using as storage in your PC.

    Storage M.2 Health?

You'd almost have to purposely try to wear out your drive to exceed the write limit. Normal usage, won't come close to the write limit before the march of technology has rendered it obsolete a couple times over and you're looking to upgrade speed and capacity anyway.

    News Silverstone "Computex 2020" (SG14, SG15, ML10, 500W Flex PSU, 700W TFX PSU)

I actually kinda like that there's a 5.25" drive bay option, in some instances, physical media isn't entirely dead, and aside from that there's plenty of other useful bay devices I kinda miss with these small cases. On the other hand, the ATX power supply support kinda baffles me. SFX is no...

Production M2426 - Evolution in Cable Management

The wire and the mini fit jr terminals can probably be omitted since most places you get wiring and sleeving supplies to do PCIe (and possibly SATA cables) sell those, and plenty of people probably already have a pile of left-over terminals already (though, I'm not one of those people). Most of...

Production M2426 - Evolution in Cable Management

I'd personally be interested in an option where you offer the same add-on cable selections but just send the terminals and housings, and I can wire it myself. I am planning to do custom wiring for my next build to cut down on the rats nest, and it's a bit of a waste of both our time for you to...

Production SENTRY 2.0: Evolution of console-sized gaming PC case

Yeah, the skylake board I have in my Node 202, the USB 3.0 is near the back and the cable's connector housing is touching my C7. I definitely agree with you on the plug. it's a huge pain in the ass, and I've managed to bend a few pins plugging and unplugging front panel cables, because it's...

Production SENTRY 2.0: Evolution of console-sized gaming PC case

Damn, I was really hoping the hivemind might know about some secret seller, but that's at least helpful. Seems all the motherboards these days have the USB 3.0 right up at the front there in cable management hell, and I was thinking I might cut custom power cables even to cut down on routing...
