So, my final pictures. Swapped to black mesh in front of the radiator, and it looks much better. The temps are good. CPU max 60°C during a 10 min run with Cinebench GPU topped out around 70°C running Furmark, while the fan-curve was tuned around 50-60%. As the GPU draws about 420W, the two...

Thanks BaK, I ordered both the black and white variant right ahead. You may have a point when considering the larger cutouts vs the smaller holes, but I don't think I will bother with that now I'm afraid, maybe if I redo the case in the future to encompass the details I've already mentioned ;)...

Well, finally I have more or less finished what I started so many months ago... The only thing that is missing is to swap out those outer screws with some made out of brass metal. I decided to skip dust filter in front of the GPU, and I might remove the one in front og the rad as well. I...

I could try and see what I can find in the area, but I prefer aluminium, as I can cut it on my saw. Cheers ;)

Discussion This 4070Ti has a tiny PCB

I think it would be a mistake to pick a too weak CPU for the 4090, though. At least a 13600k or 5800x3d. Ideally a 7700x or similar, but the power draw from theese CPUs are a bit above 50-65W. Perhaps the black ridge or big shuriken 3, but BR doesn't support AM5 I believe, and BS3 might be too tall?

My exact thoughts as well, unfortunately they don't sell FEs here in Norway, so some of you must have a go at it... ;P BTW what CPU/CPU-cooler would you choose?

Yeah thanks! Wooden panels would be nice, but thicker (3-4mm). Definitively an option, although, finding other wood types than pine here in my region (Tønsberg/Norway) prooves somewhat hard unfortunately. Mesh is too flexible I belive and would need some kind og frame? At least it would be...

Did a minor paint job on the mounting plate for the GPU exhaust fans. I think brown and green match quite well for a PC on a farm, in particular combined with two classic brown and beige 92mm fans. Perhaps i should have chosen brown dye for the vinyl mesh, but at least I dyed the vinyl...

Okay, I've finally made some progress with my old build. I've made the cutouts for ventilation in the other side panel (quite much work without a CNC ;P). I was originally planning to use a thin fabric mesh as dust filter, and mount it to the back of the panel, but I think perhaps the GPU fans...

SFF.Network Tom’s Hardware Reviews Fractal Design Ridge SFF Case

Just think they should turn the design upside down in terms of lay out, flip the GPU orientation, and place those 140mm fans behind the GPU to remove the heat. This way all cool air will be pulled in from the same side, the CPU/PSU heat can evacuate at the top (perhaps with help from a couple...

Hi fellows, Long since I last posted something here. My former project: "16L high end SFF case in wood and aluminium!" https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/16l-high-end-sff-case-in-wood-and-aluminium.17400/, has stalled a bit on the finishing touches, but I'm intending to get it done...

No, the BQ fans didn't seem to work that well with the iCUE software. The structure you refer to is the mounting bracket I made. I've posted a close up of it before on this blog, but I agree, it looks a bit like an SSD from that angle. The bracket doesn't block the PSU exhaust, fortunately.

Picture showing that it's possible to access the motherboard by temporarily removing the radiator. I also was able to switch back to some Corsair fans, as the ones from BeQuiet didn't work that well. Did a preliminary stress test running both Cinebench and Furmark (both alone and at the same...

Thanks! I've bought black, gold and green spray paint, or I could just go with brushed aluminum. I've coated the wood with some hard wax oil, but I plan to do an extra coat. The picture gives a bit too bright impression, as it is somewhat darker in real life though. A.
