Kaby-Lake Integrated into the Next Gen ASRock Beebox-S

One of the first ‘custom’ NUC based systems, the ASRock Beebox, has been given an upgrade to the latest generation Kaby-Lake processors from Intel. The Beebox-S models are now available with Intel’s Core i5-7200U (2C/4T, 2.5 GHz base and 3.1 GHz Boost clocks) or i3-7100U (2C/4T, 2.4 GHz base clock) CPUs, this new generation shows well, very few changes over the previous Skylake based systems. SFF desktop manufacturer Aleutia unveiled pictures of its latest Skylake NUC derived desktop, a completely fanless model. The new Aleutia R50 is built up of a stack of metal plates, with copper plates in the middle; which serve as heatsink for the Skylake chip. Currently the NUC is the ‘default’ (to the regular consumer) mini-PC on the market, the Intel Next Unit of Computing has added yet another family member to it’s lineup. Yet this one is different – it isn’t a barebones unit like it’s brethren. Featuring the Intel Pentium N3700, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of storage, and Windows 10 preinstalled, the NUC5PGYH is ready to go, out of the box.
