Origin PC announces the custom-designed Chronos SFF case

Origin PC is throwing their hat in the ring with a custom-designed SFF case of their own, the new Chronos series chassis. Previously the Chronos line just used off the shelf cases like the SilverStone RVZ01. This new design vaguely resembles the Falcon Northwest Tiki from the outside but the interior layout is different so this isn’t just a tweaked version of that chassis, though it very well could be manufactured by SilverStone’s OEM division too. ASUS ZenFone Zoom Smartphone Announced

  Today, Asus announced the ZenFone Zoom smartphone. The ZenFone Zoom features 3x optical, yes optical zoom. The lenses are produced by HOYA, a Japanese optics company. The camera also features a laser autofocus that, ASUS claims, can adjust in three hundredths of a second. While auto modes are available, it also allows the user to override ISO gain, exposure, white balance, and “other options.” It has a dual-LED flash, which is said to generate photos with “more lifelike colors and skin tones.” Two SoCs are listed for this phone. Zotac Launches PCIe SSD

CES 2016: ZOTAC unveiled its upcoming premium PCIe SSD. Designed for high performance, with sequential transfer rates around 2 GB/s, the drive is based on a Phison processor, combined with Toshiba 10 nm MLC NAND flash memory. Samsung to release 4TB 850-series drives and 1TB 950 Pro this year

Sean Webster from The SSD Review is in Las Vegas for Storage Visions 2016 and had a moment to check in with Samsung on their plans for 2016. According to his report, Samsung plans to make use of their high-density 48-layer V-NAND to launch 4TB versions of both the 850 EVO and 850 Pro later this year, with the former expected by end of Q2 and the latter sometime Q3. AMD reveals some details of Polaris, their next GPU architecture

AMD is getting some pre-CES buzz going with light details of their upcoming GPU architecture, Polaris. Please head on over to AnandTech for the full story where Ryan Smith talks about the information AMD released.
