HP Elitebook 2570p. It was upgraded to 8 GB of ram and a small 40 GB SSD.
I would add 2 portable hard drives to it. Not sure what size.

It might not be the most efficient solution, size wise and power draw wise ... but there's nothing preventing it from being use as a NAS. I saw people using iMac as servers....
