What are some alternatives to Protocase?

Hi everyone,

I want to take a stab at designing my own custom case. So far, Protocase designer is the easiest tool I've used to design a chassis, but even very simple no-frills cases end up being prohibitively expensive. A simple L-shaped enclosure like the ASRock Deskmini is about $250. I was wondering if there are any less expensive alternatives out there.

Thanks

You really aren't going to get much cheaper than that.

You could try contacting Gury, he does custom cases, or @VELKASE Michael.

But realistically, you aren't getting much cheaper than 200-250.

Ah damn, too bad. Guess I'll just have to learn SolidWorks or something and get it 3D printed.

I definitely would recommend learning proper CAD (it doesn't have to be solidworks, in fact, I would recommend Fusion 360),
as it will make a world of a difference in case design.
